I agree with recent reviewers that the smell and taste are VERRRRY different than past versions of this product (which I've been taking for many years). The biggest issue for me is the taste. I don't experience an aftertaste or anything, but the flavor is unpleasant in a way I've never experienced with other unpleasant-tasting vitamins. I can't put my finger on it, but it smells more like something non-edible. I've almost gone through the two bottles I ordered and I'm still alive, but I am loath to order them again. I thought these were some special vegan version and the "regular" version was still available. Seems other buys suggest that's not the case?

The capsules on the supplement taste absolutely horrible. When you open the bottle or hold a capsule in your hand the smell hits you in the face. I tried to swallow some of them... the taste was just horrible got all up in my nose and mouth and I had to drink juice to get rid of it. I was pretty much decided not to use these. But then I figured out that the powder inside has no taste at all. I've been opening the capsules and adding the powder to my smoothies and oatmeal. I can't taste it at all and now I can at least use the product. I know it says the capsules are made of vegetable cellulose, but it tastes like burning plastic.

I have IBS with constipation and have been taking all types of different over the counter meds to help with it to no resolution. I was told about this specific product from a patient and not only does it help with relaxing me before bed, but am able to go to the bathroom in the morning without any issues. I also take this with magnesium glycinate. I think a combination of them both are very effective for me especially with being able to sleep steady through the night with a snorer laying right next to me.

Don't buy this product! It made me very sick. I have been taking Solaray BioCitrate Magnesium for several years with no ill effects. However, the new formulation called Magnesium Citrate in the new clear bottle made me very sick, vomiting, etc. The BioCitrate Magnesium had no odor. The new Magnesium Citrate has a foul chemical odor that I both smelled and tasted as I vomited it throughout one miserable night. The company said this new formulation has only a minor change, and it is now packaged in a clear plastic bottle instead of a white plastic bottle. They said it has been tested. Despite the company's explanation of it is "okay," it made me very sick. I suggest avoiding this product and getting another brand.

I’ve purchase this magnesium supplement for years and preferred it to other brands. But my recent order was a different formulation, now with organic rice extract,watercress leaf, dandelion root, etc. it sounds wonderful, but it isn’t. The pills stink, a smell that to my nose seems musty and old. Let me tell you, it’s quite difficult to swallow something that smells so unhealthy. The expiration is 9/21, so that’s not the issue. All 4 bottles smell the same and I don’t think I can order this anymore.

I love this supplement! I take 3 before bed and it helps me sleep soundly and wake up refreshed. It also helps with bowel movements first thing in the morning. No more sluggishness!! I am going to try another brand because this is pretty expensive. But if it doesn't work as well, I'll definitely be back!
