Chloride is very important as well as the magnesium

Chloride is essential to energy production in the body. On a blood test, the optimal range for chloride is 100-106 mEq/L. The Na-K-Cl (Sodium, Potassium, Chloride) system moves sodium, potassium, and chloride ions across the cell membrane barrier into the cell. The number of chloride ions moved equals the sum of the number of sodium and potassium ions, in other words the ratio of ions moved is 1 Sodium:1 Potassium: 2 Chloride. K-Cl (Potassium) cotransport is the electroneutral movement of one K+ (Potassium) ion with one Cl- (Chloride) ion across the cell membrane.

What this means is that you need chloride too, and one good way to get some is to take some of your daily magnesium supplement in the chloride form. Chloride is also part of salt such as healthy pink himalayan salt but that will increase your sodium as well. Each tablet here is around 62mg elemental magnesium plus chloride, 3 is 186mg elemental magnesium and this form is well absorbed. While there is magnesium chloride oil for absorption through the skin for those that have gut issues, this is in a tablet form. This form also helps with fibromyalgia type pain.

Keep the tablets in the original bottle until you pull them out and take them right away, do not put them in your pill box. For this reason I only used this product when I wake up or go to sleep making it less convenient. It also has some fillers. Other then carlyle or the ancient minerals oil which is applied to your body, there arent too many options for magnesium chloride.

Has my review been of help to you? If so, would you consider hitting the "helpful" button below? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Great for Fibromyalgia!

Did a lot of research with regards to supplements for Fibromyalgia. There is a BIG DIFFERENCE in the types of Magnesium and I was surprised to see that most people purchase Mag. Oxide which is 4% effective! Magnesium Chloride is recommended for people with Fibromyalgia. I take it nightly before bedtime with a small, light snack.

One other thing, if you have GERD and take OTC and/or Rx meds like Prilosec, Nexium, etc., they ROB YOU OF MAGNESIUM! I stopped the GERD meds, switched to chewable Papaya Enzyme tablets and Magnesium Chloride. What a difference! No more Acid Reflux and my Brain works much better with the Magnesium!

I give it to my husband as well. I've noticed the difference in his brain function as well. People have commented that I seem more 'alert' now that I'm taking Magnesium.

This works wonders like nothing else

First, PEOPLE this is a magnesium salt, an element that will trap moisture from the air if exposed to the air. In its natural form THAT IS WHAT MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE DOES. So, don’t give it a bad review because it’s authentic magnesium chloride. Just don’t take it out of the bottle. That’s like giving a bottle of water a bad review because it wet the rug after YOU spilled it. That’s what water does! It wets stuff. These tablets work great for fibromyalgia symptoms which itself is probably magnesium deficiency in some people, but the doctors don’t test for it. I feel almost normal most days. It also provided a rapid relief from depression. I wonder how long I will have to take them? I’ll take them forever if I have to. This form doesn’t cause diarrhea for me. I am happy I found this magnesium chloride. It has changed my life!

Excellent Product. Unbelievable results in health

Excellent Product. Unbelievable results in health, and has even stopped my hair from coming in white/grey. I can't hardly believe it. This supplement is responsible for over 300 body functions.. doctors do not tell you about this..always get only the magnesium 'chloride'.. NOT oxide..

Mag Chloride is a great way to supplement magnesium.

This form of magnesium is the best for me. It is fully ionized upon ingestion, aiding in absorption. I have tried many many magnesium supplements, including chelated forms, but could never supplement with as much elemental magnesium as recommended without getting diarrhea. Diarrhea means that the magnesium hasn't left the gut = NOT ABSORBED. Finally, I can supplement to the recommended daily amount for people who are magnesium deficient (55 years of a typical American high carb diet) WITHOUT diarrhea. What this means is the magnesium in this supplement is actually absorbed - not remaining in the gut to cause diarrhea. I can take up to 10 tablets daily of the Alta Mag chloride (5 tabs in am and pm, more does cause diarrhea) so I am getting about 600mg elemental magnesium daily, the amount recommended for those who have a long-standing deficiency. It will take months (or longer) to replete my magnesium stores, then I will back off. In the meantime, I have made major changes to diet (low carb, lots of greens, nuts) so being deficient will not be a huge problem going forward. My understanding is that once mag is restored, the magnesium from any supplement will be less well absorbed and I will experience the diarrhea that comes from unabsorbed magnesium. I will then have to lower the dose to avoid that side effect. Meanwhile heart palpitations and night time leg cramps are decreasing dramatically - no palpitations at all now, and far fewer cramps. Simple solutions are best.

Helps Muscle Spasms

This is an excellent source of magnesium. I take one in the morning to help with muscle spasms, more if needed when I go to bed. It also helps me sleep at night if I cannot get to sleep right away.
