Prevent Migraine Headaches
The medical literature contains two studies by the same investigators that shows 400mg of Riboflavin decreases the frequency of migraines by about 50%. The severity of migraines doesn't change. Look it up on PubMed.The Cochrane Review doesn't have any comment, yet. I couldn't find any serious side effects, but it does turn your urine bright yellow and interferes with random urine drug testing (if that is a concern for you, like in your job).
There is no data comparing the 400mg a day with a lower dose (obviously cheaper).
One has to be careful of the anecdotal information published on the internet; it is far from a double blind controlled study.
But some comments imply a difference in effectiveness between brands.
After 3 months it has helped me better than acupuncture or botox, and it is a lot cheaper, less painful and time consuming.
No terrible side effects like topamax or propranalol.
As they say, check with your doctor. But mine didn't know anything about it.

NOT. All B2s are equal!
I have been on B2 and Petalodex 75 Butterbur for very stubborn, chronic migraines for several months. Deviating from this brand of B2 (or switching to it in a combo, MigraEze) resulted is resumption of daily migraines almost within the first day. For relief, I absolutely have to stick specifically with Nature's Bounty B2. It 's simply the only one that works for me.

Difficult to swallow
I take many vitamins every day, as recommended by my neurologist for migraines, and this is one of the more important ones (I need to take 400mg B2, so four of these).

Though I find them to be effective as part of my daily regimen, out of the 30 or so vitamin tablets and capsules I take, these are the most difficult to swallow. It is a combination of the shape and taste--they are round tablets, but a little rough around the edges.

If you are planning on taking just one a day you should be fine, but I have decided to switch to a different brand.

Works for me
Had a neurologist advise me to take 4 riboflavin daily for migraines and I've been doing this for about 7 years. It worked wonders to reduce the amount of migraines I had been getting. I had been taking Nature's Bounty but had to change to a different brand when I couldn't find it nearby. Mistake! The migraines returned. I'm back to Nature's Bounty now and not changing brands again.

Doc ordered me to take this
2 years ago I had a migraine that was bad enough to send me to the ER. The next week my doc suggested I take B-2 and Magnesium. She said a multi-vitamin wasn't enough. I really thought the doc was being a little weird, but I added these to my daily routine and haven't had an unmanageable headache since then.

Helped reduce headaches & find product via Amazon
My doctor recommended Melatonin, Magmesium and Vitamin B-2 to avoid headaches. I took them and my headaches have greatly reduced. Then I started finding drug stores that carry Vitamin B-2. I did order on-line in the past using 2 different drug stores, but the last time, they did not have the product available. So I searched the same Nature's Bounty Vitamin B-2 on Amazon and find it. I ordered a bunch of it and received it fast.
