Julian Bakery, I Love You Guys (these bars are awesome!)

But not as much as I love my husband and sweet kiddos- nothing competes with that.

So this is the 5th Julian Bakery product I have tried, and what is so super miraculous about this is that they've actually managed to make Whey taste good without a bucket of sugar or artificial sweeteners. These are low in calories, high in protein, high in fiber, use only natural ingredients, and they just may be my favorite of their bars I've tried so far.

As a heads up, these will come with a light sheen of oil around the outside to keep them from sticking to the packaging. Personally, as with the other bars, I'm not bothered by that because I value nutritional content and natural ingredients over that any day. I just wipe it off with a paper towel and go on my way. The texture on these was soft, but it's already hit unseasonably warm where I live and so I imagine the sit in the mail box softened it up a bit and that it will be slightly more firm after a while in doors. To me personally, I think this is one of the better named flavors they've got...this and the sunflower butter protein bars. I actually think the name matches the flavor pretty well.

I think it's pretty hard to beat the combination of taste, natural ingredients, and nutritional profile this bar has. I totally love it!

SPIKES YOUR SUGAR LEVELS! NOT KETO!

I have been a type 2 diabetic on insulin and metformin. I javr lost 100 lbs and dropped my glucose levels so that I have a A1c level in the 4s with no meds. I was excited about your bars being paloe/ Keto and only"1g of sugar" but found out that they spike my sugar levels worse than ice cream or na beer containing 20 carbs with no fiber. Your bars are falsely advertised they will spike sugar sending you out of ketosis and if you are diabetic they will jack your sugar way out of range. Please do more research on this product I will continue to do more research to try and figure out how something with "1 net carb" will jack your sugar up. They might be paleo but they are not Keto and are dangerously mis leading for diabetics.

Is it supposed to be green and fuzzy?

I got 2 boxes of these in April 2018 and I just opened one this morning (6-13-18) and found some green fuzzy stuff on the end of the bar and what looks to be green mold. The wrapper says good before Sept 2019. I have already consumed 3/4 of what I ordered and wondering if I have eaten mold unknowing. Yes I have called in sick to work often lately :(

The perfect keto/paleo protein bar!

I'm a nutritionist and CrossFit trainer who's hell-bent on staying fat-adapted and eating only the right foods to fuel my daily WOD's. I always know and understand all the ingredients that I put into my body and if it includes anything remotely related to refined sugar, it doesn't leave the store. So after years of hunting, I finally discovered Julian Bakery's bars—the only bars on the market that are truly ketogenic/paleo, at least in my estimation. They won't spike insulin, they're high in fiber, and low in net carbs (carbs minus fiber). Now after trying nearly all of Julian Bakery's bars, this is by far the best one. From taste to texture, they nailed it. I bought a box and shared a few with some officemates and they love it, remarking how well they suppressed their appetites. "That's the power of fiber," I told them. The challenge now is to limit myself to just one bar a day!

A great bar for a promising diet.

Totally disagree with all the posters that rate this negatively. This is about the best you can do with a whey bar that contains hardly any sugar. People saying they hate these... well no doubt 80% or more of them are just comparing it to really good bars that have at least 5x or more of sugar.

I can tell you right now, if you plan to lose weight you had better cut the sugar. People are terrible at dieting because they are addicted to sugar. Number one cause of any diet failure no doubt. 1g of sugar from Monk Fruit is contained in this bar. It has four total ingredients.

Yes, it is chewy, and it momentarily sticks to your teeth like a weak taffy, but it does not taste bad unless you are a priss bag. Learn to eat and enjoy things that don't always taste like something with 10g of added sugar. The fiber content alone in this bar is extraordinary: Prebiotic Tapioca Fiber accounts for a stunning 18g (72%) of your daily fiber needs. Sunflower butter rounds out the bar's taste profile, and I think overall it is an amazing bar. Organic ingredients and good grass-fed whey. No, it's not going to make you an addict like the bars mentioned below, and to be honest that is a good thing. I was freakin' addicted to sugary bars, and it was having an effect on my health.

Various nut butter bars and date bars that taste amazing like Organic Food Bars and Clif Nut Butters HAVE TOO MUCH SUGAR. If you can stomach something like Garden of Life powders, you can easily do a bar like this. Absolutely necessary for me at work and as an appetite and sugar suppressant. Of course you can't kill all your urges, but this bakery sure knows how to make a bar for people that are serious about getting healthier.

Yay! I Found One I Really Enjoy!

I have tried 10 different flavors of this brand of paleo bars. Several of them tasted the same to me. I thought the (egg free) caramel was OK. Unfortunately, I tossed out several others (sorry Julian Bakery). Anyway, I was excited when I tried this one! It is really good! It's almost like a Tootsie Roll taste and texture. Be sure to heat it a bit or it is too hard and the heat brings out more of the brownie flavor. And be sure to try my very favorite one with the Sunflower Butter! Please keep in mind these are low carb and no sugar when you create your expectations. ~Sherri C.
