I've been making lotion at home for about a year and bough this to add to make my own sunscreen. It mixed very easily with my formula and has been working great. It's easy to get out of the package. Recipe: 3 tbs shea butter or cocoa butter or combination thereof 1 tbs almond oil 1 tbs coconut oil 1.5 tbs beaswax 2tbs zinc oxide Combine all ingredients but zinc oxide into a ceramic or silicone bowl. Melt in a water bath – bowl placed in pot of low boiling water. Avoid getting water into ingredients. Add in essential oils of choice until fragrance is to your liking. Mix in zinc oxide until well combined. poor in tins or jars to cool. Altoid tins and deodorant tubes work fantastically well. This ratio is about 30spf. I usually triple it and can fill 4 deodorant tubes.

I just received (5/1/14) the COA (Certificate of Analysis) of this zinc oxide from Bulk Supplements. The average particle size is 550nm (.55µm). This is good, you want it to be 100nm (.1µm) or greater for non-nano sized particles. I personally want it to be 300nm or greater, so this is great.

I am in the process of ridding my life of toxins. In that process I decided to make my own makeup because regardless of what companies tell you, it is nearly impossible to find a clean toxin free makeup. It took me quite a bit of time to find a zinc oxide powder that was uncoated, non-nano and not micronized that wouldn't cost me a small fortune. After lots of research and many emails to various companies, I found this product. The COA does not say it is not micronized, but the particle size is between .46um-.58um. This company was very quick to answer my questions, I received my zinc super fast (thanks prime!) and the packaging was perfect. I just made my 1st batch of foundation, and so far I am happy. I plan on making sunscreen also. As my all natural journey continues and after I have used this product more I will update this review. I gave this a four only because I am a 1st time user and I am still learning what is good and what isn't and why. I have a hard time giving a product five stars when I don't consider myself an expert.

Mix with small amount of water to make a creamy consistency and then apply a coating under the arms. Allow to dry before dressing. The whiteness on your skin will fade and then disappear...you may not need to reapply for days...Zinc Oxide will neutralize all bacteria. Safe, cheap, healthy and effective....will not prevent perspiring. This is the cheapest you will find it...by far!

My Husband and I both agree. After four days of use we found that combined with the proper balance of copper my husband and I have had many areas of upgraded energy and mental acuteness and have had a noticeable marked improvement.
