A compelling collagen product

Verified

I've been using Great Lakes Collagen daily for a while now, which is kind of the industry standard, but I was looking for something a little less expensive and picked this up. My review will be comparing it to that.

The packaging actually looks much better than it does in the product picture, so that was a positive first impression. The powder itself looks pretty much the same as Great Lakes's powder. When I put it in cold water, which is the hardest for collagen to dissolve in, it took just a little longer than Great Lakes to dissolve, but it did dissolve completely. Just like Great Lakes collagen, it adds a slight yellowish tint to the water. (I'm not sure why the other review said it turned her drink gray, but it definitely didn't do that for me!) The taste was very similar to Great Lakes, meaning it has a subtle taste if you put it in plain water, but it's not a big deal for either product. When I put it in my coffee, I honestly couldn't even tell it was there.

Overall I think this is a very compelling product, especially for the price. I've often complained about the high prices for wellness products like this, and this is a great value. It's grass-fed and non-GMO, which are important to me. There's very little practical difference from Great Lakes when using it, so I can't really see a good reason to spend so much more for the other brand, unless you really can't spare the extra seconds it takes to dissolve.

Great price, good product, mild flavor

Verified

I decided to try this, based solely on the price, after using a couple of other more expensive collagen products. Here are my thoughts about it:

1. I haven't found a more economically priced product.
2. The flavor is very mild. I can barely taste it in a cup of black coffee.
3. It does NOT dissolve quickly. It will eventually dissolve completely in my coffee, but it takes a lot of stirring.

Overall, I'm very happy with it.

This Is the Collagen product to buy!! I can't recommend it enough!!

Yes.. I've purchased this twice this month... This form of collagen dissolves into Everything easily... You can add it to tea or smoothies.. I've put it in meatballs, sauces, soups and even bone broth every morning... My hair has started to grow so thick and long.. My nails have to be cut weekly. My gut is healing and drinking it just makes me feel so good!! It's strengthening my joints and I have lots less pain!!!

I have ordered this collagen several times and been happy with it

Verified

I have ordered this collagen several times and been happy with it. Yes, it has more dust than other brands but the taste was fine. The last batch I got was not so. It stinks of barn and dirty cow. The aftertaste is strong and long lasting. Totally overpowers coffee and cream. I have emailed the company directly and gotten no response. Will not buy again.

All bodies need collagen for healthy skin, nails, bones, organ function, gut health and immunity!

I just bought this and have only used it twice. It arrived Thursday and today is Friday. However, since there are a few bad reviews out there about taste and mix ability, I will rate this product now as I have experience with both for this product.

First let me say - . I have several health issues, some serious and life long. One is Psoriasis and psoriatic/rheumatoid arthritis. After 14 years of biologics that don’t work and pill form chemo that destroyed my body, other issues have arisen as a result including damage from chemo. I’m not a huge fan of big pharma and I’ve decided to try a more holistic approach. I drink (2) 8oz collagen peptides drinks per day. One in the am and one before bed. I mix the powder with warm water I heat up in the microwave first. I then add a tablespoon of chia seeds and a squirt of water flavoring. I make enough for the week and bottle in my empty, clean Boost nutrition shake bottles and refrigerate. I think my added photos show why I still drink collagen peptides.

I’ve been using Ordain collagen peptides for $24.99 at Walmart since April. That container lasts me 2 weeks. Since I need to purchase twice per month for a total of $50 a month, I was looking for grass fed collagen peptides a little cheaper. This brand at $16.99 for the same amount would total $34 a month, a $16 savings. That’s perk 1

Perk 2 - this brand looks, feels, smells and tastes the same as Ordain. In fact there is no smell or taste which is a huge perk for me. I need this to not have any flavor as I drink it straight from the bottle it’s made in / chilled and with chia seeds.

Perk 3 - it mixes just fine. Any powdered anything will clump when mixed with cold water (except koolaid). If you look at the gel formed from homemade bone broth - it becomes clear liquid when warm. So it is recommended to mix this powder with warm to hot water (palatable coffee/tea temp) to completely dissolve to clear appearance before adding cold water or ice. There is no residue in the bottom of the bottle or cup when blended with warm water so you get the full benefit of the recommended dose.

Anyone with health, skin, nail, hair issues or in need of extra protein in their daily diet will benefit from collagen peptides. Take a look at my April when I started photos and my now 2 month later photos. Can’t disputes this stuff works!! Good luck all!

Here is why it is great

Verified

I just pur hased this for the second time. I have tried several collagen peptides before, but this is the first obe I have re-ordered. No, it doesn't blend the best. It does dissolve, but not as easily as other brands. But literally all you have to do is stir and separate all the clumbs with a spoon or fork and it does dissolve it takes a few seconds is all. You gst WAY more for you $ than other brands. Like 3 times the amount. It tastes delicious in my black coffee. Really essentially tasteless but I love it. It has 11g of protein per serving. Such a great deal.
