Like the product, still not sure about the company

I've finished one full bottle because when I ordered their NMN, it was packaged with a free trail of this hair growth formula. I decided to give it a try because I take lots of supplements, but I noticed I was somehow lacking in B vitamins supplement-wise. So I started taking them for that reason, rather than for hair growth. I was heading out for 2 weeks vacation and knew B vitamins would be good to supplement with since I wouldn't be eating the healthiest and would be around a lot of germs, and also drinking more alcohol than usual. I felt great during vacation, even while eating junk and drinking more. I didn't get any hangovers (which I'm prone to even after 2 drinks and not even being buzzed, ugh), and I didn't catch covid even though my husband got it and I stayed in the same small room. B vitamins are purported to help with these things, and I'm inclined to think taking these helped (along with the rest of my supplement routine of course). So I'm happy with these. Regarding the company itself, I had doubts about their NMN when I went to their website and saw that it wasn't finished and had a coffee shop template in place for part of it. I see that's been fixed now, but it's still very bare-bones. There's nothing about the company Nutrition Labs, or how to obtain the 3rd party testing results, which kind of bothers me. But maybe they're still working on the site, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Doc said to take D3 because my levels are low. I'm not evaluating this for whether it suddenly turns my life around!

What's important to me is that this has a good dose of D3 for me and I could use the extras in the capsules—at least the calcium and K2. I don't understand the black pepper extract, but why not. They say it helps absorption.

Also, it's made in the US. I worry less about toxic stuff possibly getting in there if it's from here or Canada. The company seems to be rich in third-party assurances, so that's cool.

This does have way more than the recommended daily dose of D3, which is a fat-soluble vitamin. I need the higher amount because of a genetic issue, but be wary that fat-soluble vitamins can build up in your system.

(You might want to check your vitamins and make sure you're not getting more fat-soluble vitamins than you should (across all of them). It can really help to get your blood levels checked, since our genetics and metabolisms can vary quite a bit.)

I've been taking a good D3-only pill with the same dose and didn't notice any change when I introduced this one for a few days. No news is good news!

The bottle I got has an exp. date 1.5 years out.

In addition to the extra vitamins beyond D3 in the D3 capsules, they included a whole extra full-size bottle of a "Hair, Skin, & Nails" multivitamin! The paper said I was a lucky one-in-a-thousand customer (getting a free trial of a different product of theirs apparently at random). While I'm skeptical of that, I still wouldn't count on them including an extra bottle of something every time.

Regardless, I'm impressed and pretty confident in this manufacturer just based on the D3 side of things. They seem to know what they're doing and want to do things right.

Gluten free?

I am trying to recover from postpartum hair loss. My baby is about a year old, and I am trying to give my hair everything it needs to recover. I've taken hair supplements before and seen results. I liked the idea that this supplement has more than just biotin, and I'd read that saw palmetto, which this contains, can be helpful.

I'd been taking this for a few days, always with food, when I started to notice stomach upset. I typically took this supplement in the afternoon. By the time I'd have dinner, my stomach would start to feel bad, and it would get a little worse through the evening and night. I thought it was something I was eating, but I hadn't added anything new to my diet. I am gluten intolerant, but I had checked the ingredients before I ordered this. I noticed barley grass. Barley has gluten, and is on my "NO" list. But I figured since it was labeled GF, it was probably okay... (I should know better by now).

Well... over several days, stomach upset got worse and worse each night until by the fourth day, I was sick all night and the following day. I stopped taking this, and it took a few days until I felt 100% better. This is typical of what I experience when I'm exposed to gluten. If it is a small amount and I am consistently exposed, it builds in my system and my reaction to it becomes progressively worse - usually until I figure out what's bugging me, and cut it out. When I looked up if barley grass is gluten free, I read that it is if picked early enough, before the grass sprouts, it is gluten free, but that there is significant risk of gluten in barley grass because some grasses may sprout earlier than others.

I wish I could give this a glowing review, or at least say if it works or not. Unfortunately, for me, and probably for others with gluten sensitivity, this just isn't an option. Bottom line, gluten free people, please be cautious with this, or just don't risk it! There are plenty of other supplements out there.

Working!

Being a senior, I have thinning nails and hair! Right away I noticed a big difference in my nails! Took a little longer to notice new growth in my hair. First , I felt it getting thicker close to my scalp, Than I noticed it feeling fuller. I have thin hair and I could see a difference and so did my hairdresser! The pills are a little large but manageable. I am happy to have found something to help my thinning hair.

Love what I’m seeing!

I’m guessing it’s working because my hair stylist has made numerous comments about how she can tell that I have a lot of new growth and “baby hairs” coming in! I’ll take that as a sign that it’s working! As I age my hair is getting thinner and thinner so I’m happy to find a product that seems to be stimulating new growth!
