May help restore adrenals and low energy, but don't overdo it

I would echo the sentiments of others regarding this supplement (B5) improving energy, mental clarity, etc. I thus can surmise that the quality of ingredients in this product must be good. After reading into it, apparently this vitamin is used to form Acetyl CoA, a cofactor for various things, along with acetylcholine, cortisol, and adrenal hormones.

As with any supplement or medication change, it is highly advisable to keep a notebook and write down dates and times, and exactly what you took, so if there is positive or negative effects, you can pinpoint it much easier. (this works for me...)

I started out trying 1 tablet (100 mg) with breakfast and lunch. I could only tolerate it a day or two, then WHOA, I did have more energy but felt amped up on speed, and it was extremely difficult to fall asleep. Tired and wired! I decreased the dose to 1/2 tab (50 mg) w/ breakfast and lunch a few days, then that was too much.

Next step down, 1/2 tab in AM only. After a week or so, that was too much. In recent times, I only take 1/4 tab (so 25 mg) once daily - either in AM or with lunch. About 30-45 minutes later I feel more mental clarity, energy, and strengthening. If I take it too late in the afternoon, it is very hard to sleep. After a few days I may just skip a day since its effects seem to last a while.

Of note, I also take an AM multivitamin (Rainbow Light Men's One) that has 20 mg of B5 in it along with other B-vitamins. Dr. James Wilson of adrenal fatigue dot org recommends B5 in his book and it is in his supplements as well, due to its mechanisms and effects at assisting nerve transmission and adrenal hormone production.

So overall, as each person is different and may need different nutrients, if you trial this I'd recommend perhaps 1/2 tablet to start out and see how it affects you, as more energy is good but amped out of your mind is not good.

Vitamin B5 may help combat burning foot syndrome

I have been suffering from all sorts of FOOT PAIN. I am a scientist and I approach problems by reading as much as I possibly can about them. I read an obscure scientific study linking the sensation of BURNING FOOT PAIN with a rare situation of Vitamin B5 deficiency. How does one in this day and age and culture get B5 deficient?? I can't imagine. But I when I started taking a stress formula of B-vitamins and zinc, the burning feeling in my feet mostly evaporated. I still take the stress formula and when I fear a tinge of burning foot sensation, I take the B5. I love Source Naturals and trust them much more than any other brand, this product included.

Good for energy and mood elevation

Pantothenic acid is needed by the adrenal glands. It helps with utilization of fat for energy. I like this supplement because it is a lower dose than most of the others. I take 1/2 tablet daily which is 5 times the recommended daily dose. Even water soluble vitamins, which this is, can cause imbalances that are detrimental if taken in very large unnatural amounts. Too little is bad, too much is bad. This amount seems to reduce hunger, increase energy and lift my mood. I am very happy with this supplement.

Provides a huge boost to energy levels - fabulous if you're experiencing detox fatigue

Works incredibly well. I used this to help balance out candida die-off symptoms when I was doing an anti-candida protocol. Before I started using this Pantothenic Acid, I was so tired that I barely walk, stand, cook - essentially do nearly anything that required physical or mental exertion. To help myself out, I started taking this B-5 along with Vitamin C, Milk Thistle, and Chelated Molybdenum, to combat the die-off toxins, support my liver in handling all the toxins, and give my adrenals a boost. Within about 2 days my energy levels were high.

For anyone else who is experiencing fatigue while doing a candida cleanse, I highly recommend checking out the die-off treatment recommendations from the Candida Diet [...]

MORE ENERGY DURING THE DAY

This stuff is great! I had both a friend tell me her doctor recommended it, and I had a nutritionist recommend it. It gives one a little more energy during the day, and who couldn't use that?

Personally, I can't go higher than 100mg or I get a bit tense. So start low, you can always up it. It was first recommended at 250mg, and I couldn't take it. But the 100mg, for me, is just right.
