Misleading labeling, otherwise a good product

Verified

The labeling made me think that there were 120 capsules of 600mg PEA (I really don't care about the turmeric, it won't hurt, but it's too small an amount to do much. Now, I know why they add the turmeric. It's because 600mg of PEA would fit comfortably into one capsule and they want you to read it so you think you are getting 600mg in ONE capsule, but you are NOT, you are getting a mere 300mg PEA in a capsule that easily hold 600. It's too early for me to comment on reduced pain, I'll come back to do that, it just irked me that it's made a "serving size," 2 capsules. Sorry, but all over the place the normal dose is generally 600 mg 2 times per day. Remember that is FOUR of these capsules. I prefer clarity and to me this smacks of intentional misleading labeling. Btw, yes, micronized and ultra-micronized are indeed real, and the gastric absorption of ultra-micronized beats the micronized which beats the non-micronized. I would buy ultra-micronized but the only seller here sells it as bulk and I'd have to put it into capsules or try to eat the power. PEA is hydrophobic, it's a lipid, a fat, it will never mix with water, so into capsules or into something like peanut butter.

Seems to have helped

My husband had been having SI joint issues causing back and thigh pain. He tried topicals, OTC pain and anti inflammatory meds, stretches, heat, cold, rest, exercise. Even bought one of those inversion tables, which helped some but didn’t eliminate it. The fourth day he took the PEA he told me he was no longer having the pain and he does seem to be moving better too.

not bad, not the best

Same mg of PEA as another formula I usually use (Zenmen). For me PEA is one of my top go tos for inflammation. I have been NSAID / Tylenol / etc free for almost a year. I rely on diet (mainly a therapeutic level keto) and supplements for pain relief due to previous injuries. The turmeric is a nice addition to this blend. I usually add Vital Choice curcumin to my regimen with the Zenmen PEA. Turmeric is not quite the same as extracted curcumin. For me, it is not quite as effective. This seems to bring close to the same level of relief, but I still prefer my Zenmen / Vital Choice combo.

pain reliever that is gentle on your system

For multiple reasons I cannot take NSAIDS. I found these to be a fairly effective replacement. They were good enough to re-order.

Seems To Support, But Does Not Greatly Reduce Pain As Expected

I have been using a Fibromyalgia supplement from Vitanica. It has worked pretty well to help modulate the way my pain is evaluated by my system. For a long time no pain reliever ever worked. AFter taking that, at least I could take aspirin and it worked again.

That supplement has PEA and saffron in it. I thought I would try PEA on its own to see how it worked.

HOW THIS COMES
This comes in a plastic jar and has average capsules with powder in them. They are not hard to swallow for me.

HOW I TAKE THESE
I take one of these in the morning and the other at night.

DO THEY HELP?
Honestly, I am not sure I am seeing the same results from these that I did with the other capsules despite taking all of the other parts of the capsule in tandem with this. I am seeing a certain degree of pain modulating but not the level I had hoped for.

THE BOTTOM LINE
So far, these are helping a bit to modulate pain after several weeks, but nothing remarkable. I will take them until the bottle is gone.

MY RATING
FOUR STARS. These are not terrible, but they are not providing the relief I had hoped for. I am not sure why the Vitanica version of Fibro blend with the same amount of PEA in it works and this is not quite as noticeable but I supposed if I can not get the other, I can supplement with this in a pinch. If anything changes by the time I reach the end of the bottle, I will update. I might consider repurchase, but right now I am just not sure.

Trying this Turmeric mix. New to me!

I think this is the first time I have knowingly got a PEA Palmitoylethanolamide product...honestly, I was just looking for another turmeric supplement, and my other was running out, and this one popped up on my list. I looked at the packaging and thought that PEA was the name of the company becasue the next thing I see big is the word "Turmeric." Just as well, as now I get to try something new to me! I do have troubles with arthritis and inflammation, among other things, so hopefully I can see if I notice anything different with taking this during the next two months. I was wondering why there wasn't any black pepper in this mix? Not needed with PEA?
