helps with hair, nails, skin and sleep

Collagen is very good for hair, nails and skin, but it’s also good for helping promote good and restful sleep. That’s one of the major indicators for me. If I take collagen of an evening, fall asleep and have a more restful sleep, it’s helping.

This brand does just that. I prefer to mix a couple of teaspoons in about a half a cup- of water. That’s going to be at or less than the recommended dosage. This collagen dissolves within a minute or two and has a very slight taste. That’s normal.

While collagen is generally good, too much of a good thing can be bad. A common side effect of some collagen is the feeling of fullness or bloated. Taking excess amounts of collagen over the recommended amounts can contribute to a higher incidence of kidney stones and occasionally high calcium levels in the blood which should be considered.

I would like some more information

This seems to be pretty good collagen to add to my morning coffee, but I am left with a few questions on it. The supplement facts on the back of the jar show that this contains 9000 mg of collagen per serving, which is among the higher end of types I have tried, so that is good. It also lists the amino acid profile so you know what you are getting there. However, this one does not list any information on fat, calories, protein, sugar, sodium, etc. Most of them list this, even if the number is 0, so I would like clarification there. Also, another part I found really confusing is the size of this scoop. It seems really huge compared to the other scoops I have used. On the back of the jar it says one scoop is about 9 grams. I compared this scoop to the one from my previous brand. That is the smaller scoop in the picture and it says it is 11 grams. I don't have a scale to find out the correct amount to use here. The back of this jar says it is about 50 servings per container which I don't think could be correct if you do, in fact, use that entire scoop each time. I am not sure though, as I didn't count it out.
As far as the powder goes, it is pretty easy to use. It doesn't mix in as easily as some I have tried, but with enough stirring you can get it mixed in. It does clump a bit so I have to break that up with my spoon. It does not leave a taste. I like that this is sourced from wild-caught fish. The expiration date is labeled on the bottom of the jar and is good for a few years. I am okay with this brand, but it is not my favorite. I would probably like it better if I had a little more clarity on some of the previously mentioned items.

Alright

No flavor if it is mixed throughly. Blender is best bet. Using a shaker bottle left clumps and the clumps were fishy.

No flavor

When I first ordered this, I was a little worried that it is Fish based peptides. I did not want my drinks to taste like fish, so the first sip was hard because I was afraid. Thankfully it has no taste and no after taste. I like to mix my peptides in my coffee. This seems to be a thicker powder than some others I have used. It was a little trickier to get dissolved in my drink. But my frother helps break it up.
