I dreaded the cheap stamped tablets with what felt like a razor sharp edge that used to scratch my throat. These here on the other hand are capsules which slide down my throat without even feeling them. I purchased capsules from three different brands: Source Naturals L-Lysine, Country Life L-Lysine with B-6, and Super Immune Plus Lysine. The Country Life that I got is the 250 ct. which came in a nice large tinted real glass bottle. There are a lot of tablets in there. The bottle is about twice as big as normal ones you find in a vitamin isle.<br /><br />As far as the ingredients, the L-Lysine supplement, is for me without a doubt a miracle supplement. I started taking it when I saw one of my colleagues at work taking it to suppress canker sores. So I thought I would give it a try and I am happy to report that I have not had a canker sore inside my mouth in 3 years, whereas I used to get it twice per year, and would last close to 4 weeks each time. I take a regular maintenance dose of a couple caps a day. If I feel stressed out or feel a slight tingle in my mouth I go to 4 caps in the morning and 4 at night. I actually also have the power form of Lysine that I can shovel into a cup and mix it with coarse metamucil, and water and drink it, but it is a bit of a pain to do that. Caps are much more convenient. I found Lysine also helps to curb other viral annoyances such as blisters. I have not had any side effects, just relief.

Country Life is a trusted brand in my book. No complaints here with lysine. 1 pill a day keeps herpes attack away! Whenever I indulge in nuts or chocolate, I am certain to take an extra lysine to counteract the arginine. Good price too.

I use these to control Epstein Barr virus and Shingles virus (I've had both). They work. Great product.

Helps to prevent herpes/ cold sore breakouts and also helps the liver to better absorb and break down all meds, so I always take it when I take some Advil or a painkiller after the dentist or whatever.<br />And it has added B6 because absorbing lysine depletes B6 from the system so the added B6 in this formula replaces that which is depleted in absorption of the lysine.

WARNING, IN MY OPINION:...I did not read the full scope of side effects on L-Lysine..I took one upon receiving it, and I felt a bit odd, so I checked the side effects on the net and I know I will not be taking any more..not certain if I will return them, however, the due to kidney effects, tummy trouble and so on, I just can not continue with them, PLEASE do a through review and talk with your doctor before buying and using any L-Lysine...{my opinion of course}

Nothing works better than Country Life's L-Lysine when I'm plagued by canker sores. I've tried other brands but for some reason they aren't effective.
