make sure this is the formula you want

I ordered this thinking I was getting the same formula as what is in the Country Life Cal Mag Zinc Target Mins, just thinking this was a bigger size bottle, 250 versus 180 tablets. When I went to reorder it I noticed a reviewer saying to beware and I read their review. In their review they mentioned that this formula is different from the other Country Life Cal Mag Zinc! I didn't realize that this formula was so much different, it even has L-glutamic acid in it, and the types of calcium, magnesium and zinc are all the less effective forms (in my opinion). I thought I was ordering the same as the Target Mins Cal Mag Zinc formula. I thank that reviewer so much for pointing that out! Some people still may prefer this formula, so be sure to check it out before you order it if this is the kind of calcium, magnesium and zinc you prefer to take or if you prefer the Target Mins formulation. Both are a really great price and I like the Country Life brand of vitamins, just not this formula.

Not what I expected but not BAD.

The active ingredients, and doses, for people who want them are:
-Vitamin D (ergocalciferol) 200 IU (50% Daily value)
-Calcium (as calcium hydroxyapatite, citrate, aspartate, alpha-ketoglutarate, lysinate) 1000 mg (100% DV)
-Phosphorous (As calcium hydroxyapatite) 500 mg (50% DV)
-Magnesium (as magnesium oxide, aspartate, citrate, taurinate, alpha-ketoglutarate) 500 mg (125% DV)
-Zinc (as zinc citrate, histidinate, picolinate, alpha-ketoglutarate, aspartate) 25 mg (167% DV)

Having the back of the container as an image would've been helpful as this is not the same dosage as I was getting. The zinc is a lower dose than I was taking from a different Country Life bottle, but the calcium and magnesium are the same doses (different sources). This one also has vitamin D and phosphorous in it.

Best I've found - gluten free, too!

I have been taking this particular brand of calcium for more than a decade. My criteria while at a local vitamin store was a calcium supplement that would give me the calcium and magnesium I needed in the smallest dose. I simply could not deal with taking 6 or more tablets a day. These were recommended, at the time, without the zinc, and I have been taking them ever since and have even got my sister on them. She has a number of health issues that prohibit her from consuming a lot of things commonly found in tablets - starches, sugar, corn, wheat - a long list and it is hard for her to find vitamins she can take. These are free of a host of unnecessary stuff, including gluten (I just looked at the new label to see exactly what). They are even kosher! So no choking down large numbers of big pills - just three. Without the zinc, it's two. And although they are large-ish they are smooth, fairly slim and easy to swallow. I would not trade these for any more "fashionable" brand and highly recommend them. Price here on Amazon is excellent - a whole lot less than I paid more than 10 years ago for a smaller bottle!

I take these to manage my PCOS

I’m 26 and have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) and so I’m often thinking about my fertility and the hair growth in places it shouldn’t be—mostly my chin. I did some research and found this combination of vitamins can help reduce the appearance of hair in places it shouldn’t be. I’ve been taking the vitamins for about a week—3 a day—and I’ve noticed a difference in appearance. I used to have to shave the hair on my chin daily, because it would grow so fast. Now I can go 2-3 days and not absolutely have to. So I’m excited to see how I progress taking these. I like Country Life vitamins, all the research I’ve done points to that they are a reliable brand and I’m happy with them.

Be Careful

I strongly suggest if you have not been advised by a doctor that you don't take a zinc supplement. I usually take the Country Life Mag+Cal capsules and do well with them I decided to try the tabs+zinc cause I thought they would be better, boy was I wrong. These tabs made me instantly nauseous and I had cramping and diarrhea a few hours later as well. Thinking it might have been a fluke I waited a few days and took one again and got the exact same results. I don't have a sensitive stomach and these tore mine up so if you do I suggest you steer clear of anything with zic unless advised by your doc.
