"This is honestly, easily the most noticeably effective supplement I've ever taken.."
I've struggled with anxiety issues throughout life, and I'm now a 21 year old adult male and I found this product to work like no other.. It's a powder you put in a drink, works best with hot water, and it really helps chill me out. I get the unflavored stuff, which already has a slight citrus tang to it, but there are many flavors as well and I've tried a few. Goes good with stuff like tea, honey and apple cider vinegar, I add chia seeds to it as well sometimes. I'd highly recommend as it is a magnesium supplement that apparently has high absorption and from my experience I can truly FEEL.. Within minutes too! :) I've taken other forms of Magnesium, like Magnesium oxide in pill form, and didn't notice any effects, this however, really works. This is honestly, easily the most noticeably effective supplement I've ever taken.. I bought a 16oz about three months ago, and I've taken it every night, save for less than five nights I might've skipped over the months, and I just restocked because I'm just now running low. Admittedly, I due take a smaller dose than recommended but that just goes to show how great this stuff is.. A half dose or so before bed every night, does wonders. There are many factors in life, but since I started taking this, I don't really have anxiety attacks, I don't really freak out, I just roll with my life, even when it gets hard. It's not that I don't care about stressors, I just don't freak out so much when they come up. It's like this supplement has helped inject reason and realism into me when I reach a struggle, and thus it makes those struggles less of a struggle. Like I mentioned earlier, I only take it once a day, before bed, and it seems to have lasting effects that help with brain function and anxiety levels, it's only the immediate effects that are strong enough to make me chill into a sleep, but overall I'd say it helps me become more of the functional human I'd like to be. I hope someone or many find this review helpful. :)

Formula has recently changed to be 100% Magnesium Carbonate
This magnesium is now 100% Magnesium Carbonate. This is in contrast to the formula previously being a mix of Magnesium Citrate and Magnesium Carbonate. Why does this matter? Studies consistently show Magnesium Carbonate as being the worst assimilated form of Magnesium that there is (less bioavailability to the human body). It is also the cheapest form of magnesium (which is likely why the company switched to make more money). I have been consuming this magnesium for years, but it is no longer the product you should buy. This formula change is VERY recent. DO NOT BUY. This product will no longer provide the results it previously did. For some reason, they have not reflected the change in the pictures above, and they are probably praying customers don't notice once they receive the product. Background: Nutritionist.

A long review but worth the read if you suffer from IBS
I just ordered a bunch more of this stuff from Amazon. I can't really rate the product based on my Amazon purchase but I can talk about the product itself as I've been using it daily for nearly a month now. It is widely available at most Vitamin shops and health food stores but you get much more for your money ordering it through Amazon. I caution everyone when ordering to make sure it is the non GMO kind. I've seen both (regular and non GMO) and it doesn't make sense to me why anyone would order a GMO laden vitamin supplement. But that is just me. Ok, on to the review of the product itself.

It is awesome!! I initially purchased it because of the calming effects of the bowels. I suffer from horrible IBS and it has been affecting my quality of life for years. I've been on meds, supplements, special diets, etc etc for years to assist in relief. Much of my IBS is stress related on a subconscious level. Meaning I am stressed out about things but they're not in the forefront of my mind to be able to pinpoint what I'm worried about. Additionally I suffer from generalized anxiety disorder which makes me a worry wart about everything! It is truly miserable at times. For years I suffered with IBS-D (diarrhea dominant) but over the last year or so it has changed to C (constipation) dominant. With the change came even more bathroom troubles and hemmorhoids. Not fun stuff at all. The hemmorhoids are also a hereditary thing so I knew that at some point I'd get them plus having a traumatic stage 4 tear while birthing my son just did that much more damage. In any case, I knew if I didn't do something quickly to assist in this issue, I'd likely be looking at surgery to correct them. So I ordered a squatty potty which helped somewhat but it wasn't helping me to "go". I got to the point that I was drinking two bottles of the mega magnesium citrate a week to be able to go to the bathroom. Two days a week were dedicated to the toilet and that's it. How miserable is that?! I had tried every supplement and OTC med and homeopathic remedy that I could think of. Because I would get so backed up I had constant chest pressure which exacerbated my anxiety symptoms and I have ended up in the ER more than once for chest pain that ended up being trapped gas due to constipation. Something had to give. In one of my sessions of hell (in the bathroom) I became desperate and started googling my symptoms and was relieved (and shocked) that so many people suffered like I did. Not that I wanted others to suffer but because deep in my mind I thought I was suffering from some deadly disease of my guts that nobody could diagnose and one day I would be found dead on the toilet. Sounds dramatic but that's what I felt. In my search for answers I kept coming across magnesium as some sort of miracle cure. I scoffed at the idea initially because I'd tried it before for anxiety and had no luck with it AND it make my constipation worse. Then I started to wonder if maybe, just maybe, my body wasn't absorbing it properly because I had taken it in pill form. I kept seeing this "Natural Calm" being mentioned and thought about it. Honestly I came on Amazon and read the rave reviews but still held off on getting any because it has to be added to liquid and drank (and being super sensitive to taste, I didn't think it would do any good if I didn't use it because I couldn't handle the taste). Then one day I had an exceptionally bad "bathroom day" and decided that I didn't care what it tasted like and was desperate because otherwise I was just going to make up my will and let my stomach kill me. So I went to a local Vitamin shop and purchased a bottle. After purchasing it, I continued to read reviews and watching videos of testimonials and said "screw it" and made myself a cup. The first time I made it I got really freaked out at how much effervescence there was. It reminded me of alka seltzer (which I HATE) and was scared to drink it (I have a legit fear of vomiting). But it smelled good (raspberry lemon) so I just stirred it up until it was clear and proceeded to drink it. I didn't get sick from tasting it. I won't say it was delicious, but it definitely didn't taste bad. I drank the entire cup and within about 15 minutes I could physically feel a sense of "calmness" (honestly, I felt stoned). I went to bed shortly thereafter. When I woke up in the morning, I didn't feel groggy at all. I actually felt pretty good (and morning are usually difficult for me). I got about halfway through my cup of coffee and the bathroom was calling me. So I begrudgingly went expecting for it to be like every other day but much to my elation, I went very quickly and with less pain than normal. How exciting!! That night I drank another cup and had a morning like the previous one the next day. This was obviously working for my tummy so I kept at it. One night I got a panic attack (out of nowhere and for no reason). As I felt it building, I decided that I would reach for my Natural Calm instead of my Xanax. I will tell you right now that if you think this product will work like anxiety meds and that's why you want it, save your money because it won't. However it did take the edge off of the attack enough for me to use other techniques like deep breathing and acupressure to relieve panic symptoms. That was huge for me! I took a slightly higher amount than I had been taking (about a teaspoon) because I was trying to reduce anxiety symptoms. This in turn assisted in a much larger bowel movement the next morning. And I felt amazing!
Fast forward to a month later (now). I have been taking this daily. Prior to starting this supplement my medication regimen in the morning consisted of the following:
4 Aleve (I've had three shoulder surgeries and have lots of stiffness and pain)
1 0.5mg Xanax
1 20mg Omeprazole
4 180mg Simethicone caps
4 stool stool softeners
2 TRC constipation pills
2 TRC IBS pills
1 probiotic

Today I take:
1 Aleve
1/2 Xanax
1 Omeprazole
1 probiotic

That is a 12 pill reduction in a month!

This has helped my stomach as well as my joints and muscles. My anxiety has been assisted but I also think that a lot of my daily anxiety symptoms were due to all of the pressure in my stomach rising to my chest cavity. My hemmorhoids have also been drastically reduced and are nearly all healed at this point. I will never be without this product!

Helpful tips:
Drink a glass of water before drinking your cup of natural calm. Then drink one after. The magnesium needs a lot of water or it can dehydrate you. And if you're dehydrated it will not help your bowels.

Start slowly. Figure out what works best for you. I started with a teaspoon at night. I now take two HEAPING teaspoons (or close to that. I eyeball it).

Make sure to take it at least two hours after eating. This product needs stomach acid to properly work. If your body is working hard to digest food, it won't properly assist in the absorption of the magnesium (and if you have IBS or other stomach issues you shouldn't be eating within 2 hours of bed anyway).

This is not a "cure all" and if you suffer from any sort of bowel dysfunction you need to also manage your diet. But when all else fails, this kicks it up.

I rated 4/5 stars simply because I haven't noticed a significant reduction in my anxiety symptoms. Some, but not enough to say it works specifically for that. I've heard of others being able to go off of anxiety meds by replacing this with the medication. I am looking into doing that myself and should I be able to supplement this for the meds, I will update to 5/5. It is an amazing product though.

Taking one recommended dose of this during stressful times helps me calm ...
If you have anxiety issues, please research magnesium deficiency. Taking one recommended dose of this during stressful times helps me calm down within 15 min, and a regular dose helps me sleep at night. For me, it's almost a "miracle cure."

Good taste but MUCH cheaper alternatives available for 1/10 the price.
The type of magnesium is great. A lot of research recommends magnesium citrate because it is one of the better absorbing and more bioavailable forms.

But at 25/bottle it is waaaay overpriced. You can get the same stuff for 1/10th of the price AND it is in liquid form.

The number of doses on this product is: 113 doses at 325mg/dose which is close to the UL intake recommended for supplements by the NIH for adult males. All great except that this works out to 0.22/dose

In the laxative isle I picked up a 10oz bottle of liquid magnesium citrate for $1 at Target (Walmart, CVS and Walgreens carry it too). The label states that there is 1.745g / oz of magnesium so that means that a dose of 325mg is approximately 0.186 oz or 1.1 teaspoons. That also means that there are 53.7 doses / bottle which works out to 0.019/dose

That means that the calm powder is 10x the price which I think is ridiculous. It is the exact same active ingredient, a similar citrus flavor (lemon) and it is already in liquid form so it mixes easily and it is one tenth of the price. If you bought 3 bottles ($3 total) you would get MORE doses than a $25 bottle of the calm powder would give you.

If you really love the taste of the calm or feel there is another reason why this stuff is worth 10x the price, then great. Otherwise check out the laxative section in Target/Walmart/CVS to see if they have a bottle of this stuff in liquid form. I tried looking on amazon and the closest thing I could find was the calm powder.

In case you're wondering there is nothing other than magnesium citrate that makes the solution a laxative. They just recommend a very high dose if you are using it for that purpose. For supplement purposes check out NIH to see what is good for you (for an adult male the max recommended is 350mg/day but i take 300mg or 1tsp of the liquid).

Good luck.

Wow, I was a bit skeptical about some of the reviews and thought "this drink seriously can't be THAT amazing", but it truly is. My primary Dr recommended to me because of what patients have said to her about their experiences. Both my husband and I take Calm now. I've been having panic attacks more often and didn't want to take a rx, if possible. With in 10 mins of drinking Calm, I can feel my chest tightness lessen, my breathing slow down and my thoughts stop racing. I also take it before bed at times and find that I have a much restful sleep and feel rested in the mornings. I've been telling friends and family all about the product, to the point where I've been told I should work for the company as much as I promote it. Bonus, I love the flavor.
