Very drinkable

I have been drinking a protein shake for breakfast for over a year now, I'm just not hungry in the morning, but I know I need to have something. This coconut flavored powder is easy to mix, I try with water first because that's less calories than milk. I use a blender bottle and after a few shakes its pretty much all mixed in. I throw in some ice cubes and for me its ready to drink. The coconut flavor is nice and tropical but not overwhelming. You could add in some cocoa powder for a chocolate coconut, or mango or pineapple syrup for a more tropical feel. I love that this is low sugar, low carb and high protein.

Good quality whey protein

I have drank many brands and types of protein over the years. Whey has always been my main protein. One of the things I look for is the sugar/carbs in it. This does have 2g of sugar but it is sativa and not grain sugar. I would have preferred no sugar at all because I think it’s a bit sweet. Not too sweet though and the taste is pretty good. I mix it with water or almond milk. It mixes excellent leaving no nasty clumps. Made in the USA with natural ingredients. The price is set well considering I have paid twice that from other brands that were similar. I would definitely purchase this again. If you need some good whey protein this is a good choice.

Comes Down to the Taste

I've tested and reviewed a lot of different protein powders. In the end, I always come back to the taste. I want a protein powder that I don't dread drinking every day.

This protein has a very fake, artificial strawberry flavoring. I honestly don't like it at all. I will keep using it in my blended shakes at the end of the night.

6 ingredients , dissolves great and mild, pleasant taste

I have to say I was very surprised by this protein powder. I knew it had only six ingredients going into it, and really like they use sunflower lecithin instead of soy. Stevia instead of sucralose or Ace-K is also great, and a definite plus. No artificial colors either. Winner.

I’m not into the whole “it MUST be isolate” thing. I’ll gladly take either whey concentrate or isolate, and they each have their pros and cons. Okay, just be sure you aren’t lactose intolerant, otherwise stick with isolate.

The color when mixed is a very pale pink. The flavor is very mild strawberry, tastes good mixed in water or milk, and here’s the killer part: it mixed easily and clump free with just a spoon in water and milk. Now THAT was surprising and a plus.

I won’t write about the protein content, sodium, etc since the nutritional label is viewable in the description photos. I will just say I like it.

Now here is the bad part: even though the jar had a seal, it wasn’t affixed correctly. As soon as I unboxed it, I could smell the strawberry. This is bad for storage longevity and freshness. It’s concentrate, so it will go rancid faster than isolate, so the seal is important. Which leads me to the next thing..:

3 year expiration date from date of manufacture seems a bit unrealistic for a whey concentrate. Most every other protein powder I’ve seen, concentrate or isolate, has a two year expiration date from manufacture. Maybe it’s because it’s natural, I don’t know. I’m just a bit skeptical. Not saying the manufacturer is t right, and I do know protein power when sealed and stored correctly lasts considerably beyond the expiration date but still.

Anyway, this won’t be lasting more than a couple of months since it will be part of my powder rotation so the long expirations date is a moot point for me.

Would be five stars had it come properly sealed.

Nice, subtle vanilla and not overly sweet

What I really like about this protein is not only the macros but the subtle vanilla flavor coupled with a light touch of sweetness courtesy of some stevia that isn't over powering at all. If you do not like stevia, this is a good way to learn to like it (or be ok with it) as the sweetness is mild and perfect.

It passed my "shake test" which means after vigorous shaking it mixes well and doesn't product ridiculous amounts of froth and head making it undrinkable for awhile till the froth dissipates.

3g of carbs vs 25g of protein is a decent ratio. Good macros, limited ingredients. I'm not sure why there is salt added but it tastes good and the salt amount isn't outrageous.

~$25USD for 2lbs puts it right in the range of other similarly priced 2lb tubs.

I'll be adding this to my daily shake arsenal.

5/5
