Great protein powder, but…

I’m a HUGE taro boba fan and when I found out there is taro flavor protein, I was ecstatic! I blended one scoop of protein with 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup of fairlife low-fat milk. The texture was smooth, creamy, and had a hint of taro flavor. It could have had a stronger taro flavor in my opinion but maybe my expectations were too high. For the amount of calories and protein, I’ll definitely finish the whole bag…and maybe buy another!

Better Than 95% of Protein Products

This powder mixes up better than other powders I've tried, namely Premier Protein. I definitely think the milk tea flavor tastes better than almost every other protein food or drink I've tried.

The problem with most protein powders, for me, is that they have that funky, almost curdled milk taste underneath the artificial flavor that's also too sweet, which makes me drink them as fast as I can or bake with them to mask the taste (side note, check out Meal Prep Manual on Insta/YT for great protein recipes). I don't have that flavor problem with FitBites!

For me, the milk tea flavor doesn't taste exactly like boba or milk tea. It reminds me of the Brisk lemonade iced tea in a can, which I also like a lot. If you like that or instant powdered tea mixes, you'll like this too.

I will say that if you dislike Stevia, you may have a problem with this. I typically sweeten drinks and food with Splenda, so the Stevia will be an adjustment because it leaves that bitter aftertaste in the back of your throat. But even with that, I still get to sip my protein drink like I would sip tea instead of chugging it and gagging, lol. Nice. 😎

Edit: updating with the matcha latte flavor—it’s really good and tastes a lot like matcha powder. Mixing the powder with water using my milk frother produced a lot of foam. The Stevia taste is there, but that’s okay. When I mixed the matcha powder the second time just now, I added two pumps of Monin lavender syrup and ice. BOY HOWDY that’s pretty close to a regular lavender matcha latte. 🤠

If you love taro milk tea, this is a great swap.

I honestly never write product reviews, but I was almost discouraged from buying this protein powder from some of the previous reviews + the price - so I thought I’d put in my say.

It DOES taste like taro, but it is a little lighter and the texture is not as smooth as a milk tea.

I have tried blended with ice as a slush, and it was good, but also it dims down the flavor a LOT more and this powder does get very foamy.

My favorite way to prepare it is shaken in a blender cup with ice, and it comes out a lot smoother/colder - VERY similar to milk tea w good flavor.

Value wise - it is not the best. The price is high considering that there is no “exact” serving amounts in a bag.

My biggest complaint is that the scoop does not measure out to 35 grams as illustrated (which is 110cal, 25grams protein), it usually comes out to about 32 grams. As someone who tracks their macros, this is a little annoying.

All in all, if you need a good milk tea protein swap, this is definitely my new go-to. (just please, fix the false advertising!)

Meh.

I was so excited to get this protein as I love boba but it doesn’t taste anything like taro boba. Doesn’t taste horrible but it definitely doesn’t taste like taro. I tried adding taro powder that I purchased and that helped some. Better off adding unflavored protein to taro powder with stevia.

Protein of the gods

You get what you pay for. This is probably the highest quality protein I've ever tried AND is one of the best tasting ones I've had. You know when you eat high quality, healthy food and you just feel good about it afterwards--this is how I feel drinking this protein shake. I'm also pretty sensitive to whey protein and get a lot of inflammation, but I don't get it with this. Worth a try if you have any sort of sensitivity to whey protein. This is something Zeus concocted himself and fed Hercules with as a baby.

Satisfying my boba cravings in a healthy way

I absolutely love FitBites Matcha Protein Powder! Not only does it taste amazing, but it also helps me curb my boba cravings in a healthy and satisfying way. The matcha flavor is spot on and pairs perfectly with my favorite smoothie recipes. The added protein helps keep me full and energized throughout the day. I also appreciate that it is gluten and dairy-free, making it easy for me to incorporate into my diet. I highly recommend FitBites Matcha Protein Powder to anyone looking for a delicious and nutritious protein powder.
