This protein powder tastes great! It’s not chalky, clumpy, or gritty. It’s the best one I have found…and I have tried a lot of protein powders. I don’t like the vanilla flavor because it tastes too much like stevia, but the unflavored and chocolate are soooo good!

Best tasting protein shake that I've ever had !!!

This is truly amazing protein! I am a bit tired of the same protein flavors so I decided to go with the "Unflavored" option. I can't express how much I enjoy drinking this unflavored protein. It doesn't taste like anything in particular so I am able to easily sip it like I'm just drinking water yet I'm still getting the benefits of drinking an effective and beneficial type of protein like grass fed whey isolate which is crucial for recovery after an intense workout. It is on the higher price range of proteins and I can see why with the fact that it comes from grass fed sources with no additives or contaminants. This is an exceptional product by Kion which I had never head of before but I'm truly a fan now!<br />I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a high and healthy source of protein for muscle building and recovery.<br />This is my honest review of this supplement and I hope that you have found my review helpful! Embarking upon a newer and healthier diet, Kion Clean Protein fit the bill as a welcome edition to my newfound eating regime. Being a first-time customer, I was a little put off by the price point due to the amount per serving (roughly $2.43 per scoop) but being a fitness trainer I know that a quality product is priced accordingly, which Kion's protein exceeded that expectation.<br /><br />Surpassing my initial skepticism and past experience with "clean" protein powders, the overall texture of Kion was smooth as silk, with little to no protein clumping left after a vigorous shake in my shaker bottle, and no bloating or stomach aches, which has become a staple of protein powder consumption. I was even able to have a scoop before my weight lifting session without feeling weighed down and added an extra rep or 2 to my max bench press. Another great thing about this supplement is the overall tastiness, making it easy enough to add to cooked meals, such as: pancakes or waffles in the AM, guacamole (yes, guacamole!), soup, yogurt and a myriad of other recipes I've collected over the years. The icing on the cake for this carefully constructed protein powder is that the calorie to protein ratio is on point due to Kion's expertly executed manufacturing standards, not to mention the ethically sourced ingredients that go into this amazing nutrient-filled fitness must have.<br /><br />Kion's Clean Protein may be a bit higher priced than competitors but it's versatility, easily digestible ingredients, and detail-oriented standards make it one of the best! I can't see myself going back to another clean protein after trying the best! You've made a new die-hard follower out of me Kion!

My preference for a whey based protein powder is whey protein isolate. The whey is processed to remove most of the carbohydrates and fats, delivering a complete protein product. This is why this product can offer a relatively high protein: serving ratio (20 grams protein to 27 gram serving). Plus, it has only 1 gram of Total Carbohydrates (within that spec, &lt;1g Total Sugars!) and 0.5 grams of Total Fats. I've seen vegan/plant protein powders with more fat and sugars and a lower protein ratio. (The significant other won't use this protein powder, because she's a vegan, though.)<br />I added this powder to coffee, and it tasted very good. The chocolate flavor, derived from Alkalized Cocoa and Natural Chocolate Flavor (Himalayan Pink Salt, Stevia Leaf Extract and Sunflower Lecithin are the other additional ingredients), works nicely. The powder does seem a bit sweet, though. I find that most flavored protein powders add more sweetening agents (especially when using using no/low caloric alternative sweeteners, like stevia, monk fruit, erythritol) than necessary. But, considering the low calories and the very low sugar content, I won't complain.<br />As a further test, I added some to almond milk, in a shaker bottle. It had no clumps, and no residue settling to the bottom. I used about 1/2 a scoop to about 4-5 ounces of almond milk. I still found the flavoring appealing.<br />Interestingly, some studies have found that whey protein offers potential health benefits regarding diabetes and blood chemistry. The Diabetes Council notes: "Whey protein, when added to a meal, also appears to increase insulin secretion and to decrease blood sugar after a meal. (Post-prandial blood glucose) [2] Whey protein can also decrease triglyceride levels in diabetics after meals. In a recent study, blood sugar levels were 28% lower in those who had whey protein along with their meal." (online reference) And, some studies have shown that consuming a large breakfast, with significant quantity of protein (whey protein) can affect insulin production/resistance and favorably affect weight maintenance/loss.<br />I put protein powder into my morning coffee, along with other healthful additions. I'll be happy to have this as the protein component of that coffee mix. This whey protein isolate powder earns a 4.5 - 4.75 star rating, with a high level recommendation.
