Do NOT buy BEWARE

Seriously do NOT buy this product. I have been ordering it for weeks. And used to LOVE it... until i ordered it again without any notice or warning they completely CHANGED the recipe... and the flavor is overly sweet and disgusting i seriously can’t stomach it. AND I HAVE A SWEET TOOTH! I tried to make smoothies three times three different ways to make it work and i had to pour it down the sink wasting all the organic ingredients.... seriously so upset by this. They say it’s the blending but they have obviously added more crappy sweetener in it... making it like every other protein powder On the market when there’s was unique... with no price change?! It’s actually a joke. LOL Will never be buying them from again and will be telling my friends who shop there to BEWARE they might get shipped with their nasty new stuff and waste 50$ PLUS all their fresh ingredients and time they blended the smoothie with. i seriously should get a refund.... I’m shook. It was my favorite breakfast and i used to look forward to i every morning :(((

Great product, high price.

I've been on the search for a vegan protein powder that I like for a long time. I've tried most of the name brand ones (vega, garden of life, jarrow, etc) and I've never been able to stick with them for very long. I like to drink a protein shake before bed or after a workout and I don't want it to be high calories. With most of the supplements I've used in the past, I would have to add lots of extras to get the taste ok and then the calories would be too high for my wants and needs.
With Nuzest chocolate, it's different. I only have to add unsweetened almond milk and cocoa powder and I'm set. It's pretty delicious, not very sweet and since there is no stevia, no gross aftertaste.
That being said, I add 2 cups of almond milk to 1 serving of protein powder. I've found any less than that and it's too thick and the texture is hard to handle. Also, without adding cocoa powder it doesn't have enough of a chocolate taste for me, but I do have a love for dark chocolate, so there is that.
Lastly, I really do recommend this protein powder if you've been looking for a stevia free vegan powder that tastes decent with add ins. Sadly though, it's too expensive for me to justify buying it very often. I understand why the price is so high, it really is a great quality protein, easily dissolved, no bloating, decent taste, but I wish there was a way it could be a bit more affordable.

Vanilla recipe has changed: 10 more calories + 100mg more sodium

I'm vegan and currently eating Keto. I have been a fan of Nuzest for a few months now because it is the lowest sodium and lowest carb vegan protein powder I've found. These things matter to me. So It made me sad to learn that in the past month Nuzest has changed its recipe and how has 10 more calories, 2 more g of fat, and over 100 more mg of sodium. More sodium=more water retention=slower weight loss. Plus the taste has gone from pleasant to way less pleasant. NuZest, what gives?

Overpowering Vanilla taste; Expensive

I love the fact that they're aware of, and trying to reduce the amount of Heavy Metals (Lead, Cadmium, etc) in a vegan protein powder. by sourcing peas from areas of the world w/ lower levels of soil metals.
I didn't realize that I ordered the Smooth Vanilla flavor until I made my regular frozen smoothie and the taste was completely OVERPOWERED by vanilla....way too strong of a flavor. I normally order unsweetened/unflavored products for this reason; also because of the ingredients used for flavor. I will be ordering unflavored from next.
I also noticed that the ingredients list vanilla "FLAVOR", and don't state what the actual flavor ingredients are.
They need to be more forthcoming and transparent about their actual ingredients, and NOT use words like "Flavor", which is like the word "perfume" or "parfume" in cosmetic ingredient labels, which can literally mean many undesirable things.

Excellent but pricey

Summary: I like this protein powder based solely on its nutrition information, but it's expensive. I did a comparison of 4 plant-based protein powders, and this one is far more money per 25g serving.

What I was looking for: I wanted a bare-bones, plant-based protein powder with nothing else in it (no sweeteners, etc.). I don't care about how it tastes; for me, I'm looking solely for the nutrition part. Nuzest has exactly what I'm looking for: plant protein (from pea isolate) and literally nothing else.

I use a small blender to blend this powder b/c stirring it by hand w/ water doesn't get all the lumps out. I haven't tried adding it to many things; I once tried adding it to whole oats that I was cooking and - because I probably didn't know what I was doing - the result didn't taste good. So ... I just make a shake.

Details comparing 4 protein powders:

I compared the protein powders of 4 (more products are needed for a better comparison...). Because they all vary in their serving size, I normalized/converted all the cost, nutrition, etc. info of each one based on a 25g serving size. Again, cost in the following shows cost per 25g serving. All are 19-22 g protein, <= 2g carbs, <=2g fat (garden of life has 2.25g fat), and they all have no sugar, cholesterol, trans fats & saturated fats.

Protein powder comparison based on 25g of each product:
1. Nuzest - pea isolate, $2.25 cost, 90 cal, 91g protein, sugar & carbs & fiber are <1 g, 1g fat
2. Whole Food 365 organic pea protein unflavored - pea isolate, $0.93 cost, 100 cal, 19g protein, 1g carbs & fiber, 0g sugar, 2g fat (poly & mono)
3. Garden of Life Organic Raw Protein - different plant proteins, $1.67 cost, 98 cal, 20g protein, 2g carbs, 1g fiber, 0g sugar, 2.25g fat (poly & mono)
4. Promix Unflavored Vegan Protein Powder - pea isolate, rice protein, b12 - $0.91 cost, 99 cal, 22g protein, 1.7g carbs, 0.9g fiber, 0g sugar, 1.3g fat

So -- I'm going to try the whole foods 365 brand. It's much cheaper compared to nuzest (40% of the price per serving) & its nutrition is about the same as nuzest. Promix's one looks good, too, but I'm taking a b12 supplement so ... I don't want b12.

Must have changed recipe - terrible!

I had been using Nuzest protein for years. I tried dozens of other protein powders on the market and Nuzest was by far the best in terms of all around quality, ingredients, and flavor. I just purchased a new tub of the chocolate 2 weeks ago and made my usual protein shake with it. After one sip I thought maybe the fruit I was using was rotten. Unfortunately, after experimenting multiple times, I realized it was the protein that was producing the awful flavor.

I thought only the packaging was new but they must have changed the recipe or ingredients as well. The flavor of this protein used to be so smooth and pure -no trace of anything artificial. Now the flavor leaves you with a terrible almost sour and intense artificial sweetener aftertaste. I can stomach a lot but this was terrible.

I chucked out the entire tub and unfortunately wont be buying from this company anymore. I am truly so disappointed that I will have to find a new protein powder. Go back to your old recipe please Nuzest!
