Great taste, but doesn’t dissolve well. Effects difficult to ascertain.

After surgery for multiple bone fractures, I knew I needed calcium for healing and magnesium to help me fall asleep. I’ve taken several different kinds over the years, but when I went to reorder, I saw that they changed the formulation of my usual brand with unfavorable reviews, so I decided to try something new.

The good news is this stuff tastes just like warm lemonade and is very pleasant.

The bad news is that no matter what the proportion is, or how hot the water is, the powder does not dissolve. Basically, I have to keep stirring it as I drink, and even so, I end up with a spoonful of (horrible tasting) white powder at the bottom of my cup, which I then feel guilty for wasting.

All this would be almost acceptable, but I am skeptical as to its efficacy. Since both the Ca and Mg are supposedly citrates, I would expect a nice stool softening effect, which in my case is desirable due to the constipating effects of painkillers, etc. after surgery. But no such luck.

And I have not noticed any reduction in the amount of time it takes to fall asleep (unlike with my previous brand).

So… I will finish this container, but continue my search for the perfect CalMag powder.

It works…

I will start off noting two things: (1) it does not dissolve, as soon as you finish stirring you can immediately see the powder swirling, separating from the water and falling towards the bottom, so you do have to stir it every single time and take a sip immediately once you’ve stopped stirring, and it is quite harshly grainy - akin to drinking sand; (2) magnesium citrate is most often used as a laxative, so keep that in mind if you start taking this as you’ll need to make sure you have quick access to a bathroom when it hits.

However, the raspberry lemon flavor absolutely does help to get it down. It’s just tart enough overcompensate for the taste of the magnesium/calcium, and that’s saying a lot coming from me because if I don’t like the taste of something I cannot get more than a couple sips down no matter how hard I try and I am able to drink the whole glass every time with little difficulty.

And it definitely works. My doctor recommended it to me as I have issues with a lot of my muscles cramping and spasming, and for the week that I’ve been taking it I have noticed a huge reduction in the amount of muscle cramps/spasms. (And as an added bonus I’ve lost a few pounds thanks to the laxative effect).

If you’re looking for the laxative I would recommended the typical magnesium citrate you find in stores, but if you’re looking for the calcium/magnesium to help with muscles I do recommend this product.

Tastes good, and it works.

I really like the flavor, but it dose not dissolve all the way!
Just keep you spoon or shaking bottle near by, and you should be fine.
It seems to be working fine so far, but l just got it, so l will update in a month or so.
Update: The dosage seems kind of high, so l would recommend starting wirh half of a scoop instead of the whole scoop. Too much nagmesium has a an extreme laxative effect, so be careful!
But this stuff works great for muscle cramps, hiccups etc.
Take with food.

Does not mix

Does it matter if you put it into a standard water bottle or a gallon it does not mix at all

Works well.

Works well. Deducting a star because the bottle is hard to open with one hand, but the product itself is solid.
