I would get pretty bad and consistent heart palpitations and literally everything I ...
This is a tough review to write. First, let me just say that this product was a game changer! I would get pretty bad and consistent heart palpitations and literally everything I tried would not help it. I tried exercise, increased water intake, diet change... everything! I did a ton of research and nothing seemed like it would help... Randomly, during my time researching I had seen some stuff on Magnesium deficiencies. I had also remembered that when I had gone to the doctor awhile back they had mentioned that my Magnesium seemed to be a bit low... so... 1+1 why not give it a shot right?

I ordered a single bottle and started taking it. Within one day... I felt better. I mean, almost instantly it would seem everything was fixed... like a miracle drug. I didn't feel the palpitations anymore at all! I felt at ease, less anxiety, could sleep better. I have been taking them ever since and that was a couple years ago now... 2 maybe 3 now? Anyway, they have always been great. I went on to order some more and seen all the changes. Why? Why? If they wanted to change it up... why not try out a separate product line? Now the taste is off, the pills are larger and it is less effective. Onward to a different source, hoping I can find one... will return to these if the product is changed back!

WHY did they change such a great product?
This WAS a magnificent, literally life-changing product. I have been taking it for years because it makes me so much calmer and happier. I just opened a new bottle and noticed the pills are a lot bigger and a yellowish-white powder, loosely packed. They don't fit in my vitamin daily dose thing, but the main problem is there's a new ingredient that has a bunch of bad effects on some people according to recent reviews. They used to contain 125 mg of magnesium taurate plus gelatin, calcium stearate, silicon dioxide, cellulose, and croscarmellose sodium. Now they contain 125 mg of magnesium taurate plus hypromellose (capsule), cellulose, silicon dioxide, and l-leucine. The key new ingredient is l-leucine. If you look it up, this is NOT and inactive ingredient, not just a typical filler, and not good for everyone. It can cause serious side effects in some people and interacts with some medications. (Look at WebMD's vitamin and supplement lookup feature.) I am unfortunately sensitive to all kinds of additives and am concerned about trying these. Not to mention the capsule size is really inconvenient. I may just look for a simpler formulation.

USED to absolutely love these and would recommended them to anyone who would listen. Sadly, no more.
It totally breaks my heart to write this review. I have taken CR Mg Taurate for almost a year for PVC's. Recommended this specific brand everywhere ... very loudly and quite enthusiastically. I had had PVC's ... Metoprolol didn't phase them (and my hair started falling out!). Got these capsules and the PVC's went away. COMPLETELY.

Now, as a few others have said, the last shipment was different. The pills are MUCH bigger, tan instead of white, smell like yeast or something, tastes like I-don't-know-what (no previous taste) ... and worst of all they DON'T WORK anymore for PVC's !!! They last somewhat well for a few hours then that's it. I used to take 2 a day in the morning and had absolutely no PVC's (okay, I've had maybe two or three over 10 months) Now 3-4 pills a day with little to no results. No clue what they changed, but it was a bad change for what I used the pills for.

I even called the plant and the distributor to see if I could find some of the old ones. No luck. I'm heartbroken. No other Mg Taurate works like CR used to. And they all are very hard to swallow. I am hoping someone will buy the old formula and make them. They will have a customer for life in me. Very sorry to say I can no longer recommend these to stop PVC's.

The revised product (Fall 2017) is not what it used to be
I agree with other recent reviewers that there has been a drop in quality in this product recently. I've ordered this brand for several years. The formula changed in latest shipment (Fall 2017). It is off-color (they were previously white), the capsules are larger, and the results are less effective. I'll be looking for a new source.

New Ingredient L leucine Bad News People!
I have been taking the old formula of this for over 2 years for anxiety, sleep and to keep my magnesium levels up. I was very happy with this product but I will no longer buy this due to the addition of L leucine! This is not something you want to take on a regular basis by any means!
Do the research and you'll see this ingredient can have serious side effects, affecting anywhere from your liver to your brain to your blood sugar levels!
Why did they have to go and ruin a perfectly good product?
I'll be taking a low dose Taurine supplement along with a magnesium pill now instead of these.
Remove the L leucine CR!

This lowered my blood pressure without increasing potassium!
I began taking magnesium taurate after researching ways to lower blood pressure without increasing potassium. Most hypertension medicines contain potassium as it is a natural way to lower blood pressure. As a Type 1 diabetic who has difficulty shedding excess potassium, my cardiologist was threatening beta blockers as the only other way to lower my blood pressure without increasing my potassium. After researching beta blockers and seeing how they work in the body, I recoiled in horror. Beta blockers are NOT for me. More research ensued looking for a more natural biochemical solution and "Tada!" I found magnesium taurate. Before starting the magnesium taurate, I was taking a hypertension med and diuretic and my blood pressure was still running 148/121-ish. After 7 days of taking 1 capsule 2x daily, my blood pressure was checked during a regular check up. I was floored at the result; my bp was 118/81! I have now been taking magnesium taurate for about 6 weeks now and my bp has never gone above 120/85. My advice? Try magnesium taurate if your bp is high. It works!
