changed sweeteners. I need the cane sugar or honey crystals. Not a sweetener substitute!

I have used this product for years and absolutely loved it because it used cane sugar and not a substitute. I am one of few people whom have a bad reaction to all substitute sweeteners. As soon as it enters my mouth I have a very bad reaction to it. I found this happened with the last can I purchased and re read the ingredients and found that they did change the way they sweeten it. I now have a full can that I can no longer use. This product was the only one I could find out there that used cane sugar, my last hope.If anyone knows of a product that has 100% of daily vitamins and uses cane sugar, please let me know.

Good stuff

Really good smoothie base if you're over 55, which I am. Extra vitamins and nutrients we need when our natural appetites start to fade away... sometimes you just want a nice thick smoothie for lunch .. nothing else. It works great for that. With the vanilla flavor, it's easy to add a little chocolate syrup, or frozen fruit, or even peanut butter powder. I have a smoothie with this, of one flavor or another, about every 3 days. Good stuff!

Tasty and long-lasting

I have enjoyed this (and other SpiruTein flavors) for years as my breakfast, or when I need to take a meal on the road.

I usually add 4oz of Trader Joe's frozen Mixed Berry Medley (defrosted in the microwave in a cup of water), about a cup of juice, a few spoonfuls of yogurt, applesauce, and blend it. Then I add the scoopful of SpiruTein on top and blend again (If I don't add it on top, the powder sticks to the side of the blender container). If driving or going to work, I'll then pour it in a reusable container, the [[ASIN:B000VPCE80 Rubbermaid 32 oz. Sip Bottle (Green/Clear)]], slightly rinse the blender, pour that into the Rubbermaid bottle, and take it with me.

This is one of the best protein powders I have ever tried!

This is one of the best plant based protein drinks that I have tried. I liked the strawberry and decided to try the banana. I typically make my smoothies as follows:
2 handfuls of spinach or kale
1 scoop banana spirutein
1 scoop vanilla Phood (by plant fusion)
1/2 banana
1 cup frozen mango
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup coconut milk (or soy/almond)

I mix this all up in my nutribullet and it tastes amazing. It looks green but the sweetness from the powders and fruit cover the taste of the spinach and kale. This is my favorite smoothie. You can sub out the banana/mango/strawberry for other fruits as well. I have not had a bad combination.

If you like oats in your smoothie you can do the following:
1 frozen banana
1-2 TBSP of Peanut Butter (or PB2 Powder)
2 scoops banana spirutein
1/4 cup quick oats
1 cup coconut milk (or soy/almond)

This combination is amazing as well. I like to throw in some strawberries and get a PB & J feel. I love this powder and will keep it in my rotation. I have tried many many plant based proteins and the best ones are 1. Spriutein, 2. Amazing Grass Pomegranate Mango, 3. Phood by plant fusion, 4. Plant Fusion Vanilla. If you try any of these in a smoothie you will not be disappointed.

I have never used any of these powders in just plain milk or water, only in smoothies. I feel like I get better nutrition blending these with fruit and greens.

Increase Your Energy

Spiru-Tein contains energizing ingredients and this powder blends into a delicate lime-tinged shake when mixed with milk, soy milk or Rice Dream. I like using double the milk or juice because it makes the shake much more palatable and decreases the taste of Whey. I prefer the taste of soy protein, but this shake has many benefits and the whey taste is hardly noticeable.

Whey is a highly respected source of branched-chain amino acids. The amino acids found in this product include: Isoleucine, Histidine, Leucine, Arginine, Lysine, Aspartic Acid, Methionine, Serine, Cysteine, Glutamic Acid, Threonine, Proline, Phenylalanine, Glycine, Tryptophan, Alanine, Valine and Tyrosine.

Amino acids aid in the production of hormones, neurotransmitters and enzymes. There are essential amino acids that cannot be synthesized by the body and when your body is lacking in even one amino acid, it can have a negative effect on your health. This product provides essential and nonessential amino acids.

This powder not only has a broad profile of essential vitamins and minerals, it is filled with diet-aids (Lecithin, Spirulina, Choline and Inositol) and enzymes (Bromelain and Papaya). You also get the added benefit of cleansing ingredients (Chlorophyll) and Fiber (Bran, Cellulose and Apple Pectin).

Ingredients: Micro-filtered whey protein concentrate, fructose, di-calcium phosphate, xanthan gum, vanilla flavor, fructooligosaccharides (FOS - supports the growth of probiotics/healthy bacteria), guar gum, psyllium, maltodextrin, potassium citrate, magnesium oxide, microcrystalline cellulose, spirulina, vitamin C, vitamin E acetate, choline bitarate (plays a role in the metabolism of fats), inositol (helps the liver process fats), apple pectin, bee pollen, niacinamide, vitamin A palmitate, zinc oxide, manganese sulfate, ferrous fumarate, calcium pantothenate, lecithin, lemon bioflavonoids (from lemons and an important for collagen formation), papaya (digestive enzyme), bromelain, chlorophyll, pyridoxine HCL, riboflavin, thiamine HCL, vitamin B-12, ergocalciferol (a form of Vitamin D), folic acid, biotin, potassium iodine, chromium chloride, sodium selenite, sodium molybdate...and LOVE. No really, they list Love as an ingredient.

While you don't need a blender, I'd recommend a shaker. I find this blends well with a variety of ingredients. You may enjoy making your own shake variations in the blender. This powder tastes best when blended with very cold juice or milk.

You may also want to try the Chocolate and Strawberry varieties. You can drink a shake before or after a workout or drink a shake daily to nourish your body with high-quality nutrients. Nature's Plus is a company that is known for their dedication to quality. They have 21 quality control procedures to ensure the potency of their products. Not only do they use the highest quality raw materials from reputable suppliers, they also take great care to produce products with only all-natural ingredients.

If you enjoy this product, I have a feeling you will love the All-One Nutritech products. They have an incredible Fruit Antioxidant Dietary Supplement and a rather tasty Totally Fiber Product you can sprinkle on yogurt.

Also try the "Tangerine Dream" soy protein powder with
orange juice. That is one of the most delicious protein
powders to mix with orange juice.

~The Rebecca Review
