Not L-Phenylalanine (duh)
I bought this because it was vastly less expensive in a per unit cost (per capsule) than pure L-Phenylalanine, this is to be expected as it has both chiralities (Levo.& Dextro) in it instead of. just the L isolated out, what I wasn’t expecting was the negative side effects this produced for me and those I shared this product with. We normally take L-phenylalanine because of its role in the precursor chain for norepinephrine, supporting energy and metabolism (and because unlike Tyrosine, it takes about 7-8 hours for this metabolic conversion to happen, you can take it late in the evening to help you wake up bright eyed & bushy tailed!),

However, this DL seemed to leave us all with a bit higher levels of anxiety and much higher levels of irritation than we had been accustomed to with Phenylalanine (in decades of using it regularly, but seldom DL).
So, I use this very sparingly now, and with caution. If DL Phenylalanine is your thing, I can’t really be your guide as to whether this compares well to other products in that category, but If like me and my compadres, you are looking at it because it was cheaper than the L-Phenylalanine you were looking at other places please know that the two really are not interchangeable. The D & L have different effects, and to get the Dose of L-Phenylalanine you wanted, you are having to take an exact equivalent dose of D-Phenylalanine. Unless that is exactly what you were seeking, I can’t recommend it.

Best wishes & good health.
