Peas are naturally gluten free, and this product is processed in a dedicated gluten free facility.
4. Made in the USA.
5. Reduced Sodium. This product has only 14 mg. sodium per serving compared to other brands having as much as 120 mg per serving.
6. No ingredients other than organic pea protein.
7. The manufacturer performs third-party testing to insure the quality of the product.
8. The manufacturer only sources peas that are Detox Project Glyphosate Residue Free.
9. This pea protein has a mild, inoffensive odor and taste—much more so than any other pea protein I’ve tried. I usually can’t stand the taste of pea protein powder, but this one does not bother me. I can drink it in plain water or in a smoothie, and the taste is fine either way.
10. It is a fine powder that mixes well with a whisk.
11. It comes in a resealable package that is probably not recyclable, but at least it is not a gigantic container made of thick, heavy plastic of the type used by virtually every other company that sells protein powder, whether vegan or whey. I’ve gotten to the point that I will not purchase protein powder any more in those awful containers. Labeling them “recyclable” doesn’t mean they will actually get recycled.
12. It is measured out by the tablespoon, which means I can use my own measuring spoon rather than having to dig around in the protein powder searching out the scoop the manufacturer provides. (Though this product does include its own 1-tablespoon scoop.)
13. Each serving of 2 tablespoons is 11 grams of complete protein for only 60 calories.

CONS

1. The package states it offers 32 servings at 11 grams. Every other brand of vegan protein powder I’ve ever used lists a serving size as being between 18 grams of protein (only one) and 25 grams of protein (only one), with most being around 20-21 grams. If this product indicated a serving size in a typical manner of around 20 grams, this package would offer only a little less than 18 servings per container instead of the listed 32 servings. I consider the use of a non-standard serving size for any food product a form of consumer-deceiving, labeling trickery. Below I’ve listed other brands of vegan protein powder that I’ve used in the past and itemized how they compare to this brand—with the caveat that they all, without exception, use big plastic canisters. Note that all but two of them are less expensive than this brand, though only one of the less expensive ones has a massively better taste, the Orgain Chocolate flavor. And the least expensive, Naked Rice, in my opinion and that of my husband, tastes horrible. The KOS protein powder also tastes terrific, and is only a little bit more expensive than this brand per 11-gram serving. (But it, too, has a plastic canister).

Healthier Comforts Organic Pea Protein
32 servings of 11 grams of protein
17.6 servings of 20 grams of protein
$1.35 for 20 grams
$ .74 for 11 grams

Botanica Perfect Protein
20 servings of 20 grams of protein
36.4 servings of 11 grams of protein
$2.00 for 20 grams
$1.10 for 11 grams.

KOS Organic Plant Protein Powder
30 servings of 20 grams of protein
54 servings of 11 grams of protein
$1.50 for 20 grams
$ .83 for 11 grams

Orgain Orgainic Plant Based Protein Powder
20 servings of 21 grams of protein
38 servings of 11 grams of protein
$1.28 for 21 grams
$ .67 for 11 grams

Jarrow Formulas Organic Plant Protein Powder
14 servings 18 grams protein powder
12.6 servings 20 grams protein powder
23 servings 11 grams protein powder
$1.07 for 18 grams protein powder
$1.19 for 20 grams protein powder
$ .65 for 11 grams protein powder

Nutiva Organic Cold-Pressed Raw Hemp Seed Protein Powder
45 servings of 15 grams of protein
34 servings of 20 grams of protein
61 servings of 11 grams of protein
$ .97 for 20 grams
$ .54 for 11 grams

Naked Rice Organic Brown Rice Protein Powder $71.24
76 servings 25 grams protein
95 servings 20 grams of protein
173 servings 11 grams protein
$ .94 for 25 grams protein
$ .75 for 20 grams protein
$ .41 for 11 grams protein
