Not a typical mineral supplement
When I ordered this supplement, I thought it was an ordinary mineral supplement, resourced from plants.
However, the label on the bottle reads that this supplement is made up of humates. When I researched what humates are, I found that Humate-P (which appears to be the same as humates, according to the article), is derived from human blood. (Evidently, "It's sourced from human DNA from past generations that leeches out of rock and decomposed plant material". (It sounds so odd, but that's what the article says). This article also stated that the risk of transmission of infectious agents, including viruses and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, cannot be totally eliminated.
It also said that humic acid could cause the immune system to become more active, which could increase the symptoms of auto-immune diseases.
The positive benefits of this supplement is that it is said to fight viruses, especially the flu virus and can also improve some serious diseases. It is said to have been used for thousands of years for these benefits. So, what I take from this is that like many medications and supplements, risk vs reward should be evaluated before taking it. As I said, I've never heard about humates before, so I can only refer to what I read on the internet, you might find different information (I couldn't), but I thought that you might want to research it before you decide to use it, knowing that this isn't a typical mineral supplement. I rated this supplement 3 stars because though it may be an excellent supplement, I don't think that the label discloses enough information.
