I bought these for friend that was diagnosed with high cholesterol. I purchased these for my husband when his doctor tried to write a prescription for him to bring down his cholesterol. He took these for 6 weeks, ate oatmeal for breakfast every day, went back 6 weeks later and his new blood tests showed that his LDL cholesterol had dropped 60 points. The doctor was shocked at the results, but at least my husband was able to avoid drugs with side effects.

I have been taking this product for almost two years now. It has lowered my cholesterol by 50 points, which i am continuing hope to lower more. Plus my good cholesterol has also improved. What i do not like however is the price increase of nine dollars in a little over a year for the bottle of 90 pills. This just seems a bit too much, as that is over a 40% increase. Nice product, not so nice price.

I walk 5 miles/day & have a healthy diet, but still my cholesterol was climbing each year. I didn't like the idea though, and especially after I read about the drugs.<br /><br />I mentioned my issue to a friend who works in the vitamin department of a health food store, and he recommended this product (Red Yeast Rice w/ CoQ-10 & flush-free niacin). I started taking a capsule a few times/week.<br /><br />Today I had a check-up. My cholesterol was lower than it's been in decades! The doctor said when he saw my test results he assumed I had been taking the statins and he was pleased with the results. He added that red yeast rice is a natural statin, and he had no objection to my sticking with this approach.<br /><br />That's my story. I hope it's helpful to others.

This is a quality product and has worked to lower my cholesterol. However I am extremely disappointed that almost every time I order it the price increases! When I ordered about a year and a half ago for the first time, I believe the price was $18.90. The last time I ordered about a month ago it was over $24 and now it’s $27.50! Although it’s a good quality product and I am happy with it overall I simply cannot continue to justify the price increases. I will be in search of another product.

This stuff works just like the Statins minus the side effects! I took this for 3 months straight and my doctor assumed I was taking the prescribed Lipitor, but I eventually came clean and told her, this is what I was taking. To her surprise, she decided to make a note and prescribe it to some of her future patients.

I've used this nearly a year (doctor ordered), it has brought my cholesterol down drastically.<br />Price here was much better than in health food store. Shipping was excellent.
