Good Collagen, high end on the price ..

This is a good collagen powder with a nice lineup of amino acids. If you are not familiar with collagen, do some research first. There are different sources and some have added features, but Vitamin C is something the collagen needs for transport in the body. So if you’re brand doesn’t include it, you’ll need to take a supplement with the powder for best results. That being said , there are a dozen equally good products online, many at a lower price. Also there are some that don’t use all the plastic ( 🙈🙈🙈 so much plastic! ) but ship in a bag form instead .That’s my pet peeve. Anyway, it’s a good collagen , no complaints on the product , but shop around and research too.

Try it you will not be disappointed.

Have been using Collagen now for a few years and I can testify that it works. At age 62 I was really noticing my hair was thinner, skin fragile and nails were weak. This powder dissolves well in liquid and adds no taste to my drinks. I use it mostly in coffee and there is no clumping. My hair skin and nails have all improved. It took about 6 months to really be able to see a difference in my hair. It was a bit sooner with skin. I was getting skin tears all the time from playing with my new puppy. Not now we still play a lot and my skin is not so fragile now. Highly recommend daily dose of collagen.

Collagen plus some essentials

The powder dissolves quickly and thoroughly. NO residue in bottom of cup.
I saw were some have said this won't dissolve well, but that wasn't my experience.

When opening the container there's a smell of Bovine, AND while it's dissolving.
But after it dissolved it no longer smells nor has any taste.

I tested this in plain water to taste, and there's nearly nothing = photo
The photo of powder on top of water in cup (before stirring)
Photo - water in bowl was poured from the cup. - photo
(Specks in bottom of bowl are because the it's earthen ware)
The powder isn't noticeable in tea - coffee - soups - and of course smoothies.

It's contents are a particularly good collagen for those looking to bump up your Biotin intake. (5,000 mcg)
Plus the process of Hydrolyzed is done enzymatically, meaning this product is Hydrolyzed by enzymes.
(((Rather than the general hydrolyzed collagen = broken down in more easily dis-solvable amino acids)))

Enzymatically process is said to increase the reaction rate by lowering activation energy
Some enzymes can make their conversion of underlying substance to occur many millions of times faster.
Equals faster digestion.

Also contains natural Vit C (50mg) - Zinc (chelated - 5mg) - Hyaluronic Acid (50mg)

Made in The USA – 11g Protein - Unflavored, 40 Servings

A very good collagen peptides supplement, but high price/ounce

About six months ago, I was offered a free 16oz jar of Intentionally Bare Collagen Peptides for review via the Amazon Vine Program, and I accepted.

I've been using various brands of collagen peptides for over three years - mostly type I & III. I can't be 100% clinically certain, but collagen peptides seem to have done a lot of good for the health of my gut - so I'm definitely a fan.

The Intentionally Bare Collagen Peptides arrives in a resealable 16oz plastic jar. I prefer plastic jars over bags for collagen peptides as they offer the easiest, fuss-free usage as collagen peptides go airborne very easily. There is a fairly standard plastic serving scoop in the jar.

This is an enhanced type I & III collagen peptides powder. It also contains 5000mcg Biotin, 50mg Hyaluronic Acid, 50mg Vitamin C and 5mg Zinc per serving. Biotin is a water-soluble B-Vitamin that contributes to healthy hair and nails among other benefits. Hyaluronic Acid promotes supple skin and lubricates joints among other benefits. The Zinc it contains is in the best available form at this time, Zinc Bisglycinate Chelate. According to the label, this is made in the USA. The description also states that the product is derived from grass-fed, pasture rasied cows, but it does not specifically provide the nation of origin of the cows. The information provided is pretty good, but I do wish the label or description was very specific as to the source of the collagen.

Probably unlike most people who add collagen peptides to liquid for consumption, such as coffee, I tend to add them directly to my meals whenever possible. However, for the purpose of this review, I tested this Intentionally Bare Collagen Peptides in both hot and cold liquids. I would say it was an average dissolver, not as fast as some of the best, fastest dissolving peptides I've used in the past, such as [[ASIN:B0887JLVZP Left Coast Performance]], [[ASIN:B00XQ2XGAA Sports Research]] or [[ASIN:B07BL69CD2 Orgain]]. Like most collagen peptides, it dissolves notably faster in hot liquids than cold. In my experience, all unflavored collagen peptides add at least some very subtle flavor, usually similar to a very, very weak salt. Contrary to it's claims, this is no exception. This actually has the flavor of an extremely weak garlic powder, a first in my reviews of collagen peptides. Depending on what you put it in, you may or may not be able to detect it, if that matters to you.

In all honesty, I tend to purchase the cheapest collagen peptides I can per ounce and stock up when I see sales. There are huge price differences between various brands and aside from differences in they way they dissolve, I seriously doubt there is much actual difference in the efficacy at different price points when compared with other type I & III peptides. I am willing to pay a higher price for the more complete type I, II, III, V & X peptides. I try to get certified grass fed whenever possible and would never purchase *any* labelled to have *anything* to do with China. Ingredients from Brazil are okay, but the USA is preferred.

As of the time of this review, this Intentionally Bare Collagen Peptides is on the high side of what I consider to be a reasonable price for a type I & III collagen peptides supplement at $2.00 per ounce - a very high cost per ounce for a type I & III product - even considering that it contains Biotin, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C and Zinc - a definite plus. I've seen some good type I & III collagen peptides that I've used for as low as $1.09/ounce. I've seen others at well over $2/ounce and higher. Based on the price and how well it dissolves (average), I'd give this four stars. And note that there are some EXCELLENT, more complete type I, II, III, V & X collagen peptides supplements that come in at about $1.50 per ounce compared to this simpler type I & III supplement, such as my current favorite [[ASIN:B0887JLVZP Left Coast Performance Multi-Collagen]]. It is a type I, II, III, V & X collagen peptides supplement. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid and Biotin. It is a *much better* value with 90 servings per 2lb jar.

Good quality collagen.

This is a reasonable value, for collagen. I see a number of products available that although are just fine in quality, they are quite over priced. If you are familiar with collagen, you know that there are some concerns to address. One is the flavor, and two is the texture or ease of mixing, validity of the product and how you feel when using the product. Those are some things that I care about. This product has a bit of a broth tang to it with respect to flavor. It's not unflavored in that sense. I mix collagen powder in smoothies and bullet coffee. I also add a few other things to include stevia for sweetness, and I can detect some 'tang' to the coffee and smoothie. It's not a bad flavor but if you added this to soup or something warm it would blend well. There are other ingredients in this blend so this most likely explains the added 'zip' to the flavor.

Usually I notice my skin being more hydrated and having better elasticity when I am supplementing with collagen powder, this product works for me in this way. I really notice flaky dry, scaly skin when I run out of collagen. This product sits well in my stomach, I have had no unusual sensitivities or headaches, body aches when using this product. There is no unusual or unpleasant odor with this product.

As with most products, I didn't notice a reliable health improvement until I had used it for 3 or 4 days consecutively. I use 3 heaping teaspoons for a large carafe of blended beverage using a ninja type blender. I do notice a difference in the way I feel when I take an inferior product. This product works well, body aches, and over all improvement. I struggle with diet, food sensitivities and migraines. My quest is to identify products that are okay and at least don't cause more problems and ideally enhance my performance while also being competitively priced for reasonable value and quality.

I'm offering 5 stars.

Perfect!

I mixed this in a coffee and it dissolved very well. I didn’t feel like it changed the texture any differently. I didn’t feel there was a taste difference/ it was flavorless. The container itself is very generously filled which helps justify the value of it. Came with a scoop for getting the right amount. The container came sealed. I would purchase again!
