I thought the description stated that the pills were vegan, having no gelatin. Unfortunately they do contain gelatin. Difficult to reconcile with a Dr. ordered vegan diet.

Calcium and D deficiencies can lead to osteoporosis, which is very common in women.<br /><br />As an RN, I highly recommend discussing with your Dr that you also spend at least 15 minutes in the direct sun a day. This will help your body get more D. It may make you tired at first, but it will help as your body adjusts.<br /><br />On to this supplement. This is a decent low dose D3. The pills are small and easy to swallow with no aftertaste or gastric distress. I wish I could say something more definitive than that, but frankly, not having a means to properly assess the delivered product, nor to perform a double-blind study, that's the best I can do. These vitamin D pills are easy to swallow and have almost no taste. They help keep both my and my husband's Vitamin D at a healthy level. (We were both deficient before we started taking these.) Great product!
