I Finally Have Natural Energy!

For the first time in my life I can actually get up in the morning without immediately wanting to jump back in bed! I found out I had compound heterozygous for the MTHFR gene mutation. All my life I wondered why I was so tired and doctors had no clue what was wrong with me. When I saw my genetic results I got so excited thinking I could finally understand why I felt this way. I started taking these multi vitamins and have had natural energy I've never felt before. I have since quit drinking caffeine and never looked back. I will say that the 2 pills a day are way too strong for me but 1 a day is perfect! Thank you for creating a multi for people like me! :)

Horrible experience with great product

I have purchased this item a few times and it is a great Methyl Vitamin. I realize manufacturing companies change labels, ingredients & packaging but I don't think it was the case this time. I saw the bottle was a bigger, lid was bigger than the other 240 capsule bottle. It was sealed on the outside & had a seal on inside lid but when I removed the seal, it didn't come all the was off & it was dirty. I pulled out the cotton & it had yellow on it and smells of urine. Then I looked at the capsules & they were yellow instead of off white. My other bottles smell like Vanilla inside. I hope this isn't a contaminated batch from manufactuter. Be aware. I will repurchase this item again but will contact manufacturer regarding this first for safety of others.

Great product and outstanding customer service

I feel compelled to write this review because it appears many others have experienced the same situation. I’ve used these multivitamins for almost 2 years. Only recently have I received bottles where the pills have small brown spots. I returned several bottles and complained to Amazon (who quickly sent replacements…that also had spots). Then I contacted the company directly through their website. Within 24 hours I received the most thoughtful reply! The product is not rancid or moldy, as I assumed.

Here is just a portion of the info I received from the company cofounder:
“Hello this Joy, I am a Co-Founder of Pure TheraPro Rx. First, I want to thank you for your continued business throughout the years! Being a small family-run business it means the world to us that you trust us with your health and wellness goals!

I can assure you that there is nothing wrong with the capsules; this is a 100% NORMAL reaction that happens with the Copper and Iodine. We noticed this reaction tends to happen in more humid climates and although it looks strange, the capsules are perfectly safe to take - I can assure you that they have NOT gone bad, they are not oxidized or moldy.…”

The email went on to explain the chemistry, formulation, and details of ingredient shortages. I encourage you all to contact the company directly before writing a negative review here. They explained that Amazon does not allow them to reply to these reviews to address customer concerns.

Gave Me Terrible Body Odor

I am homozygous MTHFR, so I thought this would be a good option for my daily multi vitamin. My urine was not bright yellow like it is with most multivitamins and did not smell. My stomach did not upset even taking on an empty stomach.

However, I had unrelenting horrible underarm body odor that was not in existence before taking this vitamin. I used deodorants of all types, antibacterial soaps, fragrance soaps, natural soaps and nothing worked to stop the horrible and embarrassing stink coming from me. My husband tried to be nice about it, but he started getting worried that something was wrong with me. As soon as I stop taking this vitamin the body odor completely disappeared. I threw half a bottle away.

SERIOUS Nutritional Engineering...

I am ordering these vitamins today after several weeks of searching & Months of researching. These look like Awesome vitamins, & far more affordable than any other brand I have found so far... For those of us with mthfr polymorphisms (which some researchers suggest is up to 60% of the population), this is a real bonus. Methylation problems are at the root of many chronic health problems, including heart disease, blood clotting problems, recurrent pregnancy loss, autistic spectrum disorders, IBS, & arthritis. Does this sound like snake oil to you? It shouldn't. Methylation is THAT important to the efficient functioning of our cells. If you would like to know more about this cutting edge area of medicine ( known as nutrigenomics, or more simply, how we can change the expression of our individual genomes), log on to "mthfr.org", or google "Dr Benjamin Lynch", who is the Big Kahuna on this subject. Not essential to be a chemistry geek (but it does help). BTW, EVERY girl/woman of childbearing age should be taking these vitamins, because what mom eats affects not only her baby's development in utero, but pretty much that child's entire life... (OB/ICU nurse speaking here) & most of us simply can't process the folic acid that is dumped in our food & regular multis.
Do yourself & favor- skip a few lattes or sodas & buy these vitamins. It'll be money well spent.

Happy with purchase!

I've just finished my first bottle of PURE Methyl Multi without iron and I'm happy with this product. I'll be buying another bottle. It's not cheap but I think it's a well thought-out product. I feel like this is a great choice for those who need their vitamins in the active form due to MTHFR gene defects. I also love that it's American made and China free..no offense China:) I've read some of the other reviews and wanted to comment on one in particular. One person wrote that the Vitamin A level in these vitamins was WAY too high and that her doctor said not to take more than the RDA (recommended Daily allowance) of vitamin A, which I totally agree with. Now, I'm not a doctor, so double check the feedback I'm about to give:) It does show that this multi offers a 250% daily value of vitamin A, which indeed sounds very high! Keep in mind that only 25% of that is in the form of vitamin A (aka retinyl palmitate). The other 75% is in the form of Beta Carotene, which is the precursor to vitamin A. All this means is that your body can make vitamin A from Beta Carotene, if needed. If you don't need more vitamin A your body simply won't make more from the Beta Carotene. While there are some people who are sensitive to lower doses of carotene, most people can take moderate to high amounts without any issue at all. There are no set upper limits and no known toxicity for Beta Carotene. If you get too much Beta Carotene you may develop carotenemia, which causes the skin to turn a yellowish orange color. If you know someone who regularly drinks a lot of carrot juice you'll know what I'm talking about..lol. It's only high doses of actual vitamin A, not Beta Carotene, that is cause for concern. Vitamin A is fat soluble and it can build up in your body and become toxic to your liver if you take too much over a period of time. Beta Carotene is also fat soluble but, for whatever reason, doesn't seem to offer most people such issues. If any supplement is giving you trouble, it's likely not the right fit for your body and you should stop taking it until you know what's going on. Every body is different so always listen to what your body is telling you. Sometimes a supplement will cause a detox for certain people and they will mistake that to mean the product is defective or toxic. Sometimes, due to gene mutations, or other mechanisms, certain supplements will cause people other problems. I just wanted to say that I don't believe this vitamin supplement contains too much vitamin A for the vast majority of people. Just my opinion.
