Forget About Bone Broth, Take Bone Marrow Instead

I am well aware of bone broth and its purported benefits. I tried a couple of different Ancient Nutrition Bone Broth Protein flavors, but they were some of the most clumpy and distasteful powders I've ever ingested. I gave up trying to find bone broth in supplement form, but every now and then, I'd pick up some organic beef bone broth at Whole Foods to enjoy at home.

When I saw Antler Farms' bone marrow product on Amazon, my interest was piqued as I'd never seen a bone marrow supplement before - only bone broth. Antler Farms states that bone marrow is nutritionally superior to bone broth. Logically, this makes sense. Bone marrow should be more nutritionally active than bone broth because it is the raw source of bone broth, but without the potentially harmful effects of heat extraction.

This product is 100% pure and freeze dried, so the nutrients should be intact. And because it comes from calves, it has the more valuable red marrow. These two points alone convinced me to try Antler Farms bone marrow.

The bone marrow is sourced from clean, grass fed, New Zealand bovines. This is important to me as I try my best to avoid rGBH, rBST, and antibiotics. All livestock in New Zealand is raised this way.

The bottle itself is smaller than I thought it would be. It stands about three inches tall with 120 capsules. I take four capsules a few times a week, not every day as suggested because I get my good fats and collagen in my diet and other supplements. Out of curiosity, I tried mixing the powder into hot water. Interestingly, or perhaps expectedly, it tastes pretty much like bone broth without the salt and spices.

Overall, I like the product. If you are looking for a bone broth supplement, I highly recommend you look into using this bone marrow instead.

Highly Recommend

I have tried different brands of bone marrow and Antler Farms is the best! Other brands required 6 capsules a day and would cause bloating. With this brand, I only take 4 capsules and do not have the bloating issue. I started taking it for joint issues and not only has it helped with my joints, it actually has helped with a severe toothache. Dentist said I needed a root canal to take care of the pain; after about 2 weeks of taking bone marrow, I stopped having the pain and can eat normally. What a major bonus!!

because making bone broth is time consuming...

I'm a child of convenience, it's true. That's part of what worked me into some of my health challenges over the years, so I've had to change my approach. Adding bone broth to my diet was one of my changes but HOLY CRAP it takes forever & it's a pain sourcing the bones & making it taste decent.

Enter: Antler Farms! I have multiple products of theirs in my pantry because they don't use fillers, preservatives or other crap & they source their animals from natural wild locations that haven't been pumped full of hormones or other junk. Thanks for doing the work so I don't have to! And thanks for making capsules so I don't have to drink my weight in broth!

No response to query re: nutrient information

The web site for Antler Farms Bone & Marrow supplement seems sincere and informative. Yet, references to the minerals and fats present in the supplement are vague and missing important facts. After three weeks, they have not responded to my query, which doesn't give me a lot of faith in their company. These are some of the questions I posed to them:

How did you arrive at a suggested daily dose of 4 capsules, or "3000 bone extract" per day? What does that value mean nutritionally?

What are the nutritional amounts of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and other minerals you mention in each capsule? Do you not provide the amounts because they are inconsequential and barely measurable?

You play up the poly- and unsaturated fat content, and cleverly neglect to mention that there is also saturated fat, a telling omission. For those who try to reduce or eliminate saturated fat, it is important to know the full fat content and breakdown for polyunsaturated, unsaturated, and saturated fats.

Maybe my sharing the questions publicly will yield a response that my private message on their web site did not. If anyone has authenticated answers to these questions, please do share.

A MUST FOR ALL AREAS OF HEALTH & FITNESS

I am on a stem cell protocol to rebuilt a deteriorated hip. I am adding bone marrow because the adiponectin in the bone marrow fat has been documented to not only increase the number of stem cells, but activate dormant stem cells, help delivery to proiferol circulation, as well as help the stem cell change into the type of cell needed for repair or remodeling. And it is working!

Some Things Take Time - So Far So Good

taking a supplement like bone marrow probably won't yield significant results the first couple weeks.. namely results like my skin nails and hair look better and my bones are stronger etc.. things like that usually take time.. like 2-3 months.. so I'll be re-ordering this product because I believe this company is offering very good quality at a reasonable price
