When I started having problems digesting whey protein, I switched to vegan. Vegan proteins are typically much easier to digest, but honestly, most of them are poor substitutes; either with a terrible consistency, flavor, or macro balance. This one has all three. It is slightly thicker than whey protein, but does not congeal and is not gritty. It mixes smoothly with almond milk or water. It tastes like chocolate with the perfect amount of sweetness. I also spent a long time looking for a lower-carb vegan protein, and this one is my favorite! I use it for plain protein shakes, smoothies, bowls, and baking. I have tried both the vanilla and chocolate and would easily recommend either one.

The taste is awful. Chemical in nature. Oddly smells and tastes like coconut flour, although it doesn’t list coconut in the ingredients. The powder is also too fine. When scooping or dropping scoops into cup, a plume of dust fills the air. Kind of like Kool-Aid powder if you can recall that. Also, after mixing with the shake, about two inches of foam rests on top. I’ve had this issue with other veggie protein mixes before and it’s gross. Going back to Vega brand which us of much higher quality and taste.

I've been taking whey protein supplements for about 12 years, so switching to a vegan protein supplement was quite a change, and I didn't really know what to expect. I have been taking this product post-workout (mostly strength training) for the last month and a half. If you're worried about taste, this product is on par with any flavored whey protein - I haven't drank it straight with water, but it tastes great with soy/almond milk, bananas, and peanut butter! Regarding the physical benefits of muscle recovery and strength, again I haven't noticed any difference between this and whey protein - I haven't lost any muscle mass. I think this is a great protein supplement with benefits at least on par with any whey protein supplement.

I like the stats listed on the label, plus GMO, organic, etc.<br />I would like to know for certain where the peas and other products used for protein are sourced (prefer not to eat items grown in China).<br />Consistency is VERY fine powder, which when shaking produces a LOT of foam, so its best to let it sit for a couple minutes after shaking or you lose 30% of it to foam.<br /><br />Lastly the taste (cost this item two stars): I haven't had many products with Stevia in them, and I don't know if I'm tasting the Stevia or something else, but there is a DISTINCT chemically aftertaste to this product. It is severe enough that I stopped mixing it with water and went with mixing it with milk to try to mask some of that chemical sweetness. IMO it doesn't have to be as sweet as it is, so if they were to use a more natural sugar sweetener I'd happily take the extra couple calories.<br /><br />Because I prefer to mix with water I'll be trying a different product line on my next purchase.

I have been getting this protein from a supplement store for over a year and the protein this seller is distributing is not the real deal. It's a different color, texture and flavor than the one I have been buying in stores.

I’m a pescatarian that leans more towards being a vegetarian. This product is what I need in my diet to make sure I receive the protein and the nutrition that my body needs. I switched to this product after having it several times at a local cafe. It’s perfect for me and it refuels me so well after a tough workout. I love the taste and it actually smells so good when I open the canister. I’ll be buying more!
