Very chalky, No tart taste

Update: I wanted to update my review after trying some other mag citrates and returning to Nutricost's. I still find the powder chalky, but it helps to dissolve it in juice or soda and let it sit for 30-60 sec stir again and then drink. After my body got used to the change, I have noticed a mild level of laxative effect, though it can take up to 3 days to be effective. One plus over other mags I have tried is no acid, no heartburn.

I have been using Mag Citrate powder for almost 3 years. Only when my current brand changed their product this year, have I realized that many different formulations/potency/quality levels can be labeled as Mag Citrate. I know Mag Citrate as slightly grainy, quick dissolving, tart/lemony powder. I take a potent iron supplement, so I count on the Mag Citrate for its gentle laxative like properties to counteract the iron. This powder is flavorless, does not dissolve very well and, like other reviewers have said, extremely chalky. Although I noticed the muscle relaxing benefits were still effective, this Mag Citrate had no impact digestively. If you are used to, or looking for the laxative effect, I did not find this powder effective.

Excellent! I use Magnesium Citrate for fibromyalgia

Excellent! I use Magnesium Citrate for fibromyalgia. I am always nervous when ordering bulk products, because it's not easy to test for purity. The first time I used this...I felt the difference. Very good mild muscle relaxer and sleep agent.

People are so miss leading with reviews!

I was so jaded by peoples reviews that I almost did not buy it. I will say it has a slight off taste but I'm not getting it to bake a cake, not half as bad as people say,I was so afraid to drink it, my fear was a lot worse than the taste, please do not listen to the primadonnas,if you want some thing that tase like candy get the flavored one if you want just mag. with no fillers get this one. All you have to do is use a little water, drink it down then drink something you like. Grow up, put on your big boy pants and stop complaining!!!

Changed quality .

I was a big fan of this product until they must of change their quality after my last batch. The last batch I got said Made in America, It dissolved in water easily and did not cause any GI distress. This new container I got looked and felt different. It looks like powdered dry wall/sand and does not dissolve at all!! Causes me to have terrible GI distress and no longer says made in america. I tried emailing them about this and after 2 emails they stop responding and never resolved my issue. DON'T BUY!! Look for a better product.

Helpful for OIC & IBSC

Serving size says “one scoop” but there was no scoop included. I went by other mag cit powder doses & estimated 250mg per 1/2 tsp. I mix 3 tsp with one of those fancy juices from the produce section when I’m feeling really backed up & have consistently had good results within 6-8 hours. I recommend mixing with a smoothie-type beverage to offset the texture. The powder has NO flavor but will make liquid a little thicker.
It goes well in coffee or hot chocolate also.
My guts are jacked. Opioids for 23 years + gastroparesis + severe anxiety. If you’re in a similar boat, give this a chance.
