Grits, beware!---cannot be consumed, product tastes good otherwise..

I purchased this product after verifying with the seller if it was tested for pesticides residue, and heavy metals----the responses and feedback I received were very reassuring towards my purchase. Having said that, it tastes exactly as it should, however during the grinding process there must have been undetected stones in it as I can clearly feel the grits while consuming the final portion of the concoction I had prepared with water. I know the amla fruit also has a hard seed, but this one was clearly grits. Not happy as a result of this, otherwise the product itself tastes good. Returned the product!

The "best by" date is in 4 months??? For a 16 oz bag that has a serving size of 1 tsp?? Wish I had known that.

This review is for the seller Blue Lily Organics than for the product. I just ordered this and received it on Feb 22 and I just noticed the bag states "best if used before June 2017". That date is in FOUR months! Considering the serving size is just 1 tsp, it is going to take a LONG TIME to finish the bag. Certainly more than in 4 months. Very disappointed.

My wife loves Amla

I bought this for my wife. She had this to say -

I’ve been using this product for three weeks on my hair and skin and the results are great. My curls look healthier and have volume, additionally it’s given my hair beautiful and natural reddish highlights. I do a weekly mask of this Amla with honey and my skin is rejuvenated after leaving it on for 20 minutes. I will be purchasing the product again for sure.

Taste is awful to me...

I'm sorry to say I don't like this amla powder at all. I have tried one other brand before this one and this one is different in taste, color, texture and effect. Firstly, I do not like the taste the previous brand was much more tolerable. It has a sandy feel while drinking. The color and texture of this one reminds me of loose mineral powder (ivory). It leaves an after taste in my mouth and throat and I feel a little upset afterwards (I drank it on an empty stomach). I much prefer my previous brand as I had none of these issues. The only good thing I can say about this is that it is packaged well and it's organic. I don't think I can continue using this and I would not recommend.s

Good Stuff

Although this is very tart, I mix into my oatmeal every morning with blueberries and bananas and can not taste it.

Great value

I purchased Amla based on a recommendation by Chris Wark. He said to start with just a quarter teaspoon so I was expecting Amla to have a bitter taste. I was pleasantly surprised. I have been using it in smoothies. Even at 1 teaspoon a serving, I expect it will last me a long time.
