Adding More Silica: Not a Good Decision
The addition of more silica to the original mineral whey turned a wonderful product into a gritty, odd tasting, ineffective mess. The whey will not dissolve completely, no matter how much or how long you stir it. Residue is always left in my glass. Instead of soothing the acidic feeling in my stomach, the whey now makes my stomach more uncomfortable.
If adding more silica is for convenience, it was a bad decision. When did convenience trump quality and effectiveness of a product? So the original whey tended to clump together; it still mixed smoothly in liquid and tasted wonderful.
Also, my research on silica indicated that silica can be organic and inorganic. Although, silica is needed by the human body, inorganic silica is not necessarily good for human consumption.
Is the silica in the Capra Mineral Whey organic or inorganic? What does the warning, for California residents, to limit their intake of the whey, with the additional silica in it, mean for consumers not living in California?

This drastic change, to a product I used to love and benefit from, will prevent me from buying it again. Shame on Capra Products for such a bad decision.

Great for older dogs with arthritis
I purchased this at the recommendation of my holistic vet. My older dog has arthritis in his hind legs, and was starting to have trouble walking, sitting up and down, and even reluctant to chase around his younger brother dog and sister cat. My vet told me that this particular mineral whey powder is very alkalizing, which helps greatly in reducing the acidic deposits in arthritic joints (both humans and animals). It takes a bit longer to see results (several weeks to several months), but the results are long-term and very noticeable. After trying every other holistic option (Vitamin C; organic molasses; DGP; traumeel) this mineral whey powder seems to be doing what those other options were not able to do. I am adding divided doses to my dogs food daily, and after a full month, my dog is now walking better, is starting to chase the cat around again, and is not quite as stiff-legged as before. This will definitely be a permanent addition to my dogs organic food diet. Excellent product for general overall health
Excellent product for general overall health. I use it for my gastric reflux, it really soothes my throat. My husband has had arthritis in his spine for over 25 years and when he uses this product, he has no pain. When he forgets for awhile, his back starts to hurt and his movements get very stiff but it doesn't take long after using this that he starts feeling better again. Several friends have used it for arthritis as well and can't get over how much it helps even though it's nutritional and not medicinal.

Great quality
This is the best mineral supplement on the market, as far as I'm concerned. It's effective, delicious, easy to assimilate, and soothing and relaxing. Unlike other mineral supplements, it's not loaded with unhealthy and non-essential ingredients (like sugar). I enjoy mine mixed with plain water (with warm water it's super soothing) or mixed with Caprotein in carrot juice and water. To avoid lumps, I put the powder(s) in a mug, then add a tiny amount of liquid, just enough to make a paste. The powder seems to dissolve better that way. Then I add the rest of the liquid. But even if there are a few lumps, that's nothing compared to the pure goodness and clear health benefits this product delivers. I get an instant pick-me-up from drinking this and it's helping me re-mineralize my teeth. Can't do without it. Best value is definitely to buy the larger size. It's available in a 10-pound volume, too.
