I use this primarily for supplementing my dogs raw food diet. I don't have a bone grinder, and this is great supplement as KAL uses a FOOD GRADE bone meal, and the company strives to use organic and non-GMO ingredients as much as possible. I can tell the difference, literally, in how my dogs eyes look! I have been using KAL Bone Meal consistently every week since 2011 for my homemade dog food. I chose this product based on guidelines from Dr. Pitcairn who authored Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide To Natural Health For Dogs & Cats. In his book, he lists this particular product first in his Group I list of 2 recommended bone meal products for supplementing pet diets. Dr. Pitcairn explains the importance of the calcium to phosphorus ratio in food prep. KAL Bone Meal has a 2:1 calcium to phosphorus ratio, which is excellent, as well as the highest mg of both per teaspoon of any other products he lists, making it cost effective. Now Bone Meal Powder has 2:1 calcium to phosphorus ratio, but much lower mg per teaspoon. I also chose KAL Bone Meal because it is human grade. In summary, four reasons I use KAL Bone Meal: 1. It's first on the list of Dr. Pitcairn's recommendations of Group I calcium supplements. 2. It's balanced 2:1 calcium to phosphorus. 3. It has high mg to teaspoon making it cost effective. 4. It's human grade.

WHAT THE HELL?? I bought this for my dog, but the label says it contains a substance that can cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. And it's supposed to be made for human consumption, too? I don't think so. I hate to think about the people in the factory making this. Even if you're not going to have kids, why would you keep this in your kitchen?

I used to use a toothpaste called &#34;dr collins restore&#34;, the best toothpaste ever created, but GSK bought out the novamine patent and now doesn't make a flouride free novamine toothpaste for sale anymore and only sells the flouride kind in europe under their sensodyne brand. I'm now boycotting GSK for their **** ways. If you knew what fluoride actually does, you'd be avoiding it, it's toxic for teeth and bones. Google dental fluorosis. Anyways, gonna make some toothpaste using the most affordable and easily available source of Calcium Hydroxyapatite, the very thing that teeth are made out of and used to remineralize enamel! bone meal! This, plus diatomaceous earth, plus xylitol, plus a pinch of potassium nitrate for sensitivity, and a few drops of peppermint oil as a flavor agent and a little vodka as a preservative and you're good to go.<br /><br />Take that GSK IIII!

I make half of my dogs' dinners and follow the recipes laid out in Dr. Pitcairn's &#34;bibles&#34; of making your own dog and cat food. He lists several manufacturers that are the most acceptable for this ingredient, and this is on that list. I was thankful to find the &#34;A-List&#34; items on Amazon. (Following recipes is important and it doesn't take much Bone Meal; careful.)

I make dog food from scratch, this is one of the ingredients, very good for them! My 14 year old Yorkie has a full set of teeth, all super white, never been cleaned, and she does not eat hard foods. What we feed them matters!
