I couldn't live without this product. Each time I have a pain in my body I just grab the bottle and apply wherever the pain is, it goes away fairly quickly. I keep it next to my bed in case I wake up with a cramp. I also apply it to the bottom of my feet before bed and it helps me sleep. You will notice the skin on your feet start to peel but for me, that's a good thing because once I peel away the dead layers, I have these beautiful soft feet underneath. I would recommend this to everyone.

I am 75 and have a lot of shoulder pain, sinus headaches, arthritis in my knee and I get bursitis in both hips from time to time. The gel takes the pain away in just a few minutes and makes such a difference at night if I am hurting a lot. I don't know what I did without it. It does not get hot like Bengay or Icy Hot. No smell either. I use it during the day, especially if I need to go to the grocery store etc.

I have zero experience with magnesium chloride, but, I saw a video where the woman recommended rubbing this exact product on the top of your feet, saying it works wonders as a sleep aid. Actually, she went so far as to say that within 10 minutes, she's out like a light. I wasn't expecting miracles, but, she convinced me that it's at least worth a shot. After reading reviews, I was also convinced that this was worth trying for muscle aches and restless leg syndrome. As soon as I received the product, I applied it to my lower back; immediately, my hands began burning/itching, terribly bad! Same with my back! It stripped my hands and caused them to be painfully dry. The burning/itching on my back lasted for hours. I had hoped it wouldn't have the same effect on my significant other, so that this wouldn't be a waste of money. His reaction was even worse than mine! Crazy. I decided to give it one more try, this time, on the top of my feet, and this time, I squeezed the product directly on my skin, then rubbed it on with a tissue, so that my hands wouldn't have contact with it. My feet began itching and burning, and it didn't even do anything to help aid sleep, or relaxation. It is not a tingling sensation, it is a, pouring salt on an open wound, sensation. In short, I would not recommend this product, ESPECIALLY to those of you that have sensitive skin. As others have previously stated, the texture is terrible. It's like a lightly grainy, lube. It's sticky, greasy, and messy.

This product helps to reduce the pain associated with leg cramping, due to lack of magnesium. I found this, however non-oily product to be pretty much oil based. It does do the job and I am pleased about that, but am happy to apply it to a leg that is being 'dressed' in shorts.

I can't say enough about this stuff! Due to medical issues I develop low magnesium levels frequently. Of course this affects the body in many ways, the most annoying for me is the sudden, excruciating cramps of the calves and feet. This product when applied to the skin over the cramp relieves the cramp within a minute or two. Of course it is messy and must be wiped off after use but it is definitely worth it. I have read reviews where the reviewers complain of the picking sensation. When you feel the tiny "picks" this sensation is due to the magnesium being absorbed into the skin. This means that your deficiency is severe enough for the absorption to produce notable pain. After the "picking" stops you are supposed to wipe off what is left. You can apply another application if necessary and again wipe it off (or shower it off) after the "picking" stops. You really need to remove the excess gel as it is extremely drying to the skin. You can also get extra magnesium by soaking your feet in epsum salts and you may get the "pricking" sensation during this process as well. Getting extra magnesium through absorption is a preferred way because when you take it orally it has a laxative effect! If you get a lot of cramps you may need a supplement. Get the kind that releases the magnesium slowly in order to prevent the laxative effect. And yes magnesium can help with sleep, it can also help with high blood pressure because magnesium affects these processes in the body. It's all about balance! But balance is not always easy to achieve which is why I like to keep a bottle of this topical gel in bathroom. I'm a nurse, everything written here can be substantiated if you choose to do so. This is wonderful stuff if you need it!

This gel seems to be more potent than the lotion. I mix this gel with other products to avoid the salty itch/burn feeling on my sensitive skin. It also feels a little sticky to me after it's dry. I put this on my husband's calves at night and he gets a deeper more restful sleep. I also use it on my massage therapy clients mixed with other oils or creams with great results on relaxing muscles and relaxing the client. The consistency is too thin to use alone as a massage product.
