When traveling to places with poor sanitation and/or limited access to medical care, I choose to bring:<br /><br />1) Pepto-bismol: At first rumbling of your stomach, I take it! Not Imodium, etc. - Pepto has additional positive anti-diarrheal/buffering qualities.<br />2) RecoverORS: When traveler's diharrea hits, I use oral rehydration solutions to avoid serious (life-threatening) dehydration.<br />3) Antibiotics: I bring these (on doctor's prescription) to squash bacterial forms of traveler's diarrhea and/or cholera before the dehydration becomes deadly.<br /><br />I choose RecoverORS over other products like Gatorade because RecoverORS contains far less sugar (which only feeds the bad bugs!) and more essential electrolytes. How does it taste? Kind of like flat Alka-seltzer, but somehow a little 'thicker'. I don't think I'll be spiking my cycling water bottles with it regularly, but I wouldn't travel to a 3rd world country without it!<br /><br />--<br /><br />Side note: the seller really goes above and beyond in shipping their product quickly. I researched this and other electrolyte products, and it is by far the best I found. The sodium and potassium levels are higher and the sugar levels much lower (especially important if you are diabetic as I am). The taste is quite okay and the powder dissolves easily and quickly in any fluid (I put it into plain water and am fine drinking it that way). I recommend Recovers ORS and will buy it again.

I have used Pedialyte a few times as an adult for when I have had the flu, diarrhea, extreme hangover, etc. and it always helps, but I could never stand how thick and sweet it tasted.<br /><br />This product tastes very similar to Gatorade but is even easier to drink and works so much better than Pedialyte, I am guessing because it has a greater concentration of electrolytes. I don't even have to drink an entire liter like I do with Pedialyte, so it saves me money as well!<br /><br />I am definitely planning to stock up on these to have them on hand at every situation.<br /><br />As an added plus, it got rid of my sore throat INSTANTLY - and was way better than gargling salt water like doctors tell you to do! AMAZING PRODUCT!

For starters, I was NOT given this item at discount for a five star review. I paid full price. I hate that so many products on Amazon do this bc a majority of buyers go off of reviews. That being said, this product is awesome! I've taken it twice now, after a few glasses too many of wine. I take it right before bed and can tell you I have not had any hangover symptoms, or they have been greatly reduced so you can function the next day. I don't have a headache, the shakes and sleep pretty well, as drinking can affect this. I am buying this in bulk for those nights I want to over indulge in adult beverages. Highly recommend!

This was okay but I did not realize that it contained sucralose (artificial sugar found in Splenda) when I bought it. So, I probably won't be buying it again.<br /><br />What I would love to find is a powder mix that, when mixed with water, is close to Pedialyte (the unflavored/uncolored version) but has about 1/2 the glucose. And no artificial sweeteners. I care mostly about how it works (health issues) and not how it tastes.

I originally bought RecoverORS when traveling abroad to keep me hydrated in the plane. If you keep hydrated your jet lag will be less. It has a great lemon taste when mixed with water. Make sure to mix it correctly otherwise the taste will be too strong. I made that mistake once but quickly added more water. During Easter weekend I was dehydrated because I did not drink much water. I bought some Gatorade thinking it would fix my dehydration problem but didn't. I then remembered I had some RecoverOrs left from my trip and mixed it with water. Within 15 minutes I started to feel better and quickly ordered more. I really recommend this product to everyone.
