Not for those with thyroid issues

I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and this formula made my thyroid problems worse, as it contains manioc root, a known thyroid inhibitor. So, I ended up gaining weight and having all sorts of issues while using this formula.

Migrane miracle

I was having migraines for the first time in my life (I've always had severe headaches that last days but never like the previous months) I was reading about vitamin c therapy for migraines. I researched a good brand and I was drawn to this particular one. Two days into taking the powder my headaches completely went away. Blew my mind! I Have been headache free for about two weeks now. Got my life back.

This stuff REALLY works!!

This is BY FAR the best vitamin C supplement I have ever taken. I have been using this product for about a year now, and I won't try any other C supplement again. All the ingredients come from real food/herbs, and not the synthetic ascorbic acid one usually finds in Vitamin C supplements. Plus, it's corn free, which is a huge plus for me, as I try to avoid corn as much as possible. I find that my body can process it really easily, and I only need a 1/4 of a teaspoon to get the full effects of the supplement. At first I was concerned that the small dosage would not be enough to combat the common cold, but I have found that since this supplement is made from all natural ingredients, a little bit goes a long way. I dont want to jinx it, but since I started taking this about a year ago, I have not gotten sick. I mean, anytime I felt a cold coming on, I would immediately take my vitamin c (double dose if I felt I was coming down with something) and the symptoms would disappear. When I feel a cold coming on, I take a tonic of this mixed in water and a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a sweetener (3 drops of stevia) once a day, and it knocks whatever sickness right out of my body. I strongly recommend this product for anyone looking for a great, reliable vitamin C supplement!

Finely ground, dehydrated berries. As far from the synthetic, Chinese-made vitamin C as you can get.

The nutritional value of vitamin supplements is one of those hotly debated topics. For every person convinced of the healthfulness of supplements there's another who thinks supplements result in nothing much more than expensive pee. Both camps, though, would probably agree that it's better to get your nutrients from food than from a pill. And that's what Pure Synergy's whole-food vitamin C powder looks and tastes like: food. It seems like something you'd make in your own kitchen if you had the inclination and time: dried and pulverized berries. Its rich pink color, with sparse purple flecks, looks completely natural, not like something engineered in an industrial lab, and its strong tart taste is exactly what you'd expect concentrated vitamin C to taste like. At a time when 90 percent of the world's vitamin C is synthetic and manufactured in China, if you're gonna take a vitamin C supplement, this one--which isn't, and contains organic ingredients and camu camu (an antioxidant darling) sustainably harvested in the Amazon rainforest--is the one to take.

Contains Tapioca **Allergy Warning**

I really wanted to like this alternative over conventional vitamin C and I was very excited to try this out. While Camu Camu is the first ingredient, the second ingredient is manoic root, aka cassava and when dried to a powder is tapioca. While tapioca does naturally contain vitamin C, it is perhaps a way to add a filler without actually calling it a filler - marketing? It's cheap and the one included in here doesn't indicate it's organic even though most of the other ingredients do. I also found out that I'm allergic to tapioca. It did warrant an anti-histamine to counteract the symptoms of itching, redness, and shortness of breath. I finally attributed my symptoms to this bottle and immediately discontinued its use.

I rated 3 stars, not because of allergies (while it is not a common one, it is certainly no fault of the manufacturer). However, the fact that they claim no fillers and use a cheap additive, it is slightly deceitful. The product itself dissolved fairly easily in water and it's pink - I think i read someone posted it was like sawdust and water. I'd say a very fine sawdust, wasn't horrible though. I have a very sensitive palate and the taste wasn't bad, it wasn't overly powering or bitter and I'm certainly not much for anything sour. I did usually mix with smoothies so it masked a lot of the flavor. I'd buy this again if they removed the manioc root.

Overstated Amount of Vitamin C!

According to Labdoor, this powder recorded 47.5 mg of vitamin C per serving (falling below its label claim by 60.4%). That's the definition of a ripoff, especially considering the steep price. I have no reason to doubt Labdoor's analysis so, until that variance is addressed, this product deserves zero stars. If this is fixed and proven by independent testing, I would probably give this 4 stars, docking 1 for the price, since I had no problems with the actual product and I recognize the possible advantages of wholefood vitamin c vs. ascorbic acid. FYI I purchased this on Amazon.ca.
