Poor source of magnesium
I ordered this under the impression it was purely magnesium citrate. The main ingredient is actually magnesium oxide, which, with a gastric bioavailability of 4% (that is, only about 4mg of every 100mg you ingest is absorbed) is worthless as a source of supplemental magnesium. This prompted me to return it.

Great Price, worth the purchase
I'm a workout enthusiast. I eat clean and work out hard. Despite my diet, I was still cramping up towards the end of some of my workouts (typically after about 45 minutes - 1 hour of intense training). After some research, I found that many people are deficient in Magnesium; and, one of the side effects was muscle cramping.

After a few days of taking these as directed, I noticed that I was beginning to cramp less and less until if finally stopped. I haven't cramped in many months now. I would recommend this to anyone that experiences muscle cramps while working out.

So much easier to swallow then tablets!
These magnesium capsules are so much easier to swallow then tablets! I take 2 a day to reduce muscle cramps and spasms and migraines. I have not taken them long enough to tell if there is a difference in effectiveness compared to tablets but the fact that I can swallow them without choking is a huge plus.

I have been balancing out my calcium/magnesium ratio by doubling the recommended daily dosage
I started taking Magnesium consistently about 5 years ago after acute heart failure. Until then I took it in the evening as assurance to move my bowels the next morning if I was having problems with constipation. So, it was not a consistent supplementation, until I discovered this when I my post operative instructions were to add magnesium supplementation.

Magnesium’s benefits can include reduced symptoms from conditions such as chronic pain, fatigue and insomnia. Magnesium may also provide protection from a number of chronic diseases, especially those associated with aging and stress.

Recently re-discovered as an overlooked key to good health, a number of medical researchers are recommending increases to the RDA for magnesium — sometimes suggesting as much as double the current recommendations — to ensure protection from diseases such as osteoporosis and hypertension. I now take 800 mg at night with no ill effects of loose bowels and have all but cancelled out my magnesium deficiency.

Necessary for good health, and a vital component within our cells, magnesium’s benefits help our bodies maintain balance, avoid illness, perform well under stress, and maintain a general state of good health.

I have been buying NOW products from the Health Food store for years as I trust the brand and am happy that is more accessible and economical outside of places like Whole Foods which can get pricey.

Ya buys yer ticket, ya takes yer chances
I trust this company for a quality product. After doing some research, I chose their saw palmetto supplement and was happy with the results, so I've been making them my go-to company for all my supplements. (Not that many - magnesium, men's multi, saw palmetto and D3). Pretty subjective, I know, but I'm not a chemist, so I have to base my decision of a certain amount of trust. After reading some distressing stories about other brands not being very close to what is advertised, you never know. But NOW seems to be one of those companies that can be trusted. So far, so good.

Magnesium stearate.
This would be a great product if NOW didn't add unnecessary and toxic magnesium stearate. As soon as they stop adding that, I'll buy it again! Hey NOW, get with the program! Surely you know by now (no pun intended) that magnesium stearate is harmful and that there's no reason to add it to your products. Have some integrity and do what you know is best for your customers. Aren't you a company that is purportedly interested in helping people become more healthy?
