Great for the price - and Taste is pretty good
Ok, let's get real ... rice proteins don't taste great ... BUT ... there are compromises if you need to avoid Whey. With that said, I have tried A LOT of products out there and wasted A LOT of money - and I am glad I stumbled across this one. I tried SunWarrior Rice Protein and thought it was really gross in comparison to this ... this is the best rice protein so far in my experience and the price point is MUCH better. The taste is typical "of rice protein" - and I gave up on all the fancy flavors (i.e., fake, nasty vanilla) and decided to go the DIY method. I use all plain protein powders (i.e., rice, hemp, pea) and then add fresh/frozen fruits - raw cacao powder and some natural sweeteners to taste - and the result is pretty good. Most importantly, I know exactly what the hell is in it ... and don't have to research weird ingredient lists ... a little extra work - but you get out - what you put in ... and it only takes 1-2 minutes really ... but after losing 130+ lbs ... I have realized that convenience is our greatest enemy.

Highly digestible!
I have a neurological disease that has paralyzed my digestive tract. I live on liquid nourishment. Nutribiotic is my favorite protein powder. It does not cramp me up like whey, and the flavor is milder than hemp. There are no fillers, thickeners, stabilizers, flavorings, soy, lactose, gluten, fiber, inulin, or stevia - just organic rice protein!
I make multiple shakes with any combo of homemade almond milk, the Nutribiotic powder, Rainbow Vibrance, Green Vibrance, Raw Cacao Powder, organic raw almond butter, organic coconut oil, a pouch of Peter Rabbit organic baby food purée, homemade yogurt from raw, grass fed whole milk, fish oil, coconut water, and/or green tea. Sometimes I'll add fresh squeezed organic juices as my liquid base - spinach, kale, cucumber, papaya, zucchini, blueberries - whatever will help me get a balanced intake of nutrients and antioxidants. My shakes are delicious! If I get a sour piece of fruit or vegetable, I may add a thin drizzle of organic grade b maple syrup, but I love the protein powder. It has a bit of a rice cake aftertaste, and blends up very quickly. I use an Oster personal blender (the blending container is a bottle you can drink out of), and 3-5 pulses is all that's needed. No grit, no clumping. I buy it monthly and am very grateful for companies that offer healthy, tasty, 'clean' supplements. I just hope they don't discontinue it or add anything else to it.

What a waste. Please be warned and DO NOT BUY if ...
It says 'NO CHEMICALS' yet there is a disclaimer that's says it 'contains a chemical known to cause birth defects and reproductive harm'!!! So....throwing this in the trash... I have been looking for something to boost my protein content for fertility and during pregnancy. I bought this because I am lactose intolerant and all of the soy options seem to have a sugary chemical to flavor it. What a waste. Please be warned and DO NOT BUY if you are of reproductive age!

The best option out there for vegan unsweetened protein powder
Having tried many vegan protein powders, this one is the best combination of cost/taste/ingredients/healthily derived that I have found.

Pros:
-smooth texture
-organic
-vegan
-derived without use of chemicals
-taste goes well in fruit/vegetable smoothies
-relatively cost effective compared to other options
-unsweetened

Cons:
-Amino acid profile is not as robust as some others. It is a bit low in Tryptophan and a few others (see complete amino acid profile here:http://www.nutribiotic.com/Organic-Rice-Protein.html) so make sure you get a varied diet.
-Can get chalky if you add too much. About 1.5-2 tbsp in a 14 oz smoothie is about right for me, your tastes may vary.

My morning smoothie:
1 cup greens (baby spinach / sweet lettuce / baby romaine)
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1 tbsp flax seed oil
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 heaping tablespoon brown rice protein (1.5-2tbsp)

Add water (or coconut water for taste) as necessary to get everything blended smoothly - not necessary in a vitamix/blendtec.

The taste takes some getting used to - I like it now but it's best to work your way up to it.

A transitional recipe would be to add:
-1/4 of a banana
-double the blueberries
-halve the greens
-coconut water or a dash of apple juice for flavor

Once you are used to "green" for breakfast, scale the ingredients back day by day until you are used to the flavor of the recipe above.

Fun twists are to substitute mango for blueberries, or add a squeeze of lime.

Since I've switched my breakfast to this I don't have a low blood sugar crash midday, and I can go 3-4 hours before lunch feeling energetic. It has literally changed my daily life, I'll never go back to standard American style breakfasts. Best of all I can make and eat it in under 5 minutes!

Works for Adding Extra Protein
This rice powder increases protein without causing the stomach upset that often comes with whey powders. It has no ingredients you cannot pronounce. We use it in smoothies, with fruits and/or yogurt. I've also made pancakes and waffles with a couple of tablespoons of this product added to the recipe. The plain adds no flavor; vanilla does smell and taste like, well, vanilla.
