I was having some health problems and my doctor tested my Vitamin D levels. It turned out that I was extremely low, and she recommended Bio D-Mulsion Forte. As per my doctor's recommendation, I take 5 drops each day of the 2000 mg. She monitors my blood levels to make sure I don't accidentally overdose myself.<br /><br />My general health has improved in the last few months, and my immunity is so much better that I have not caught any "bug" that goes around since I started taking this product - even though I live with and care for two elementary age granddaughters who catch and carry every illness that goes around their school. Now, I have purchased the 400 mg strength, and give it to my granddaughters (along with cod liver oil) every day before school. They seem to be sick less often, and recover faster when they do catch something.<br /><br />I have always been suseptible to severe colds and have developed a seasonal asthma because years of coughing have damaged my breathing passages. It is important to minimize my risk of getting winter colds and this vitamin D has helped considerably.<br /><br />A note about the price: I purchased this on Amazon for around $20.00, but my doctor charged me $250.00 for exactly the same product. I was glad to get such in important remedy at any price, but it is much cheaper here. I say, "Get it from Amazon".

I suffered from severe Vit D deficiency for a long time -- it had quite an impact on my health. All of this was unknown to me until I started going to a holistic Doctor who tested for this first thing. He recommended Bio-D-Mulsions as the best way for my body to recover this all important hormone to the proper levels. I had terrible digestion issues at the time and taking this drops under my tongue was the best way to boost the D since I bypassed the digestive tract. I have been taking this for 2 years now and it works wonderfully for me. I make sure to get my levels tested at least annually to ensure I continue to take the right dose.

Just a note on the expiration date issue: I ordered this on 12/4/13, received it 12/9/13, & the exp date on the package is Sept 2014, well within the active period. Since I've only taken it once, obviously I can't comment on the efficacy.<br /><br />Gluten, Dairy: i don't recall seeing mention on product description, but it says on the label that this is Gluten & Dairy free (vital for me & others).<br /><br />btw, i had one doc comment that proper vite D levels are critical to so many body functions (not just calcium absorption) that it probably should be considered more of a hormone than merely a vitamin. A different doctor recommended this product as being much better than the D tablets I was taking --better absorption.

I needed to raise my serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D level from low in the range (>20 ng/mL) to higher in the range (&lt;99 ng/mL). I took 6,000 IUs (3 drops in A.M. under the tongue) for 3 months and retested my serum levels. My serum level raised to 75 ng/mL. I continue to take the same dose and have maintained above 50 serum level after additional testing over the last two years. Living in the NE, I get more than normal sun but I always wear sun block so I am not absorbing what nature naturally provides.

This is a very cost effective product. It was shipped extremely quickly. The bottle was sealed and included an expiration date (which is next year). I've had no trouble at all accurate taking just one drop. The taste is a non-issue. It's slightly sweet--reminds me of almond milk. The drop is so small you hardly taste it, though.<br /><br />It's too soon to tell how well the product works. My Vitamin D level is at 25, so I'm hoping this helps bring it up. I also have Hashimotos, and know that thyroid and Vitamin D deficiency can go hand in hand. I felt it was worthwhile to invest in an emulsified formula, versus pill form.

As several other reviewers did too, I purchased Bio-D-Mulsion Forte upon the recommendation of Dr. Kharrazian as part of an autoimmune treatment regimen. I've taken Vitamin D drops before and never noticed a huge difference, so I'm hoping the emulsification will do the trick. So far I've only been taking Bio-D-Mulsion Forte for a couple weeks. I don't know if it's because of this or not, but in hindsight each day I feel like I've had more energy/motivation when I've taken the Bio-D-Mulsion than when I haven't. (very likely that it does play a part, as we're already into grey fall weather here) The taste isn't particularly pleasant, but it's short-lived and is so easy to take (not to mention one less pill to swallow) that I can't complain!
