Rating reflects intended use for Pain issues

First background so you can discern whether my review is applicable for your needs!

I had been using KAL's other Magnesium supplement, Magnesium Glycinate 400mg, primarily for 2 issues: inducing sleep and pain issues. I originally bought KAL's Mag Glycinate for sleep & found, nearly immediately, my pain issues went away (i.e. I had debilitating pain 2 x a month requiring 12 ibuprofin in the day plus a heating pad...which still would not knock it out, also had shingles pain).

After a couple years of the Mag Glycinate, I saw the Mag Malate deal & knew it also has good absorption (much more over the Mag Oxide which has less than a 10% absorption which is why it is so much cheaper & what is used in most Multi's). Unfortunately, I noticed the pain returning (not as severe as the past but nowhere near the effectiveness of the Mag Glycinate). For me, the other Magnesium Glycinate 400 is a much better option for pain issues. I able to take the Glycinate at 200mg (versus 2 pills) & feel limited to no pain (eliminated shingles pain, monthly issues). The Mag Malate does not provide the same relief as the Glycinate even with 2 pills (at night). (Note: I also take 600mg Omega 3s which has been shown to help inflammation)

I recently read the difference between Malate & Glycinate is, Malate should be used for nutrient deficiency/energy; Glycinate for pain. So I will be sticking with KAL, but going back to their Mag Glycinate!

It's a great supplement for many issues.

I've been taking this supplement for over 2 years now, 2 a day every day. It relaxes me, helps with the side effects I've been dealing with after having brain cancer, radiation treatment, and 3 brain surgeries (1 major one). If I forget to take it, I notice it. I'm a little more anxious, don't sleep as well, etc. So, it's having a beneficial effect on me. Magnesium is essential for your body to function properly, and this is one of the more absorbent forms. It has a lot to do with Vitamin D and calcium. You really can't go wrong with this supplement. Try it out, and you'll notice effects immediately, especially in calming you down and making you feel very relaxed. If you have a stressful lifestyle, this will definitely help, along with L-theanine.

Good magnesium for early in the day

I take this form of magnesium early in the day as it provides more energy, while other forms tend to make you calm and are better for sleeping.

Work great for energy!

As several reviewers have noted, these tablets are rather large, but I trust Kal products, and I was not disappointed by the results! I have sleep issues and take magnesium lysinate glycinate chelate to help with my sleep, but I often still feel tired in the morning, so I started taking these magnesium malate tablets after seeing a doctor on TikTok talk about the different types of magnesium, what they do, and how they work. Within a week or so of taking magnesium malate in the morning with my breakfast, I started feeling MUCH more alert, energized, and focused, and more like my old self! I highly recommend them.
