Fortefy, a miracle probiotic for my urticaria with an important caveat.

I have been diagnosed with chronic urticaria/atopic dermatitis that makes it very difficult to sleep and greatly interferes with my daily life. I am a health professional with a doctorate and two science degrees and could not work for several years. I have been treated with a myriad of different medications including immunosuppressants prednisone, azothioprine, cyclosporine, and mycophenolate. I’ve been treated with specialists at Stanford and UCSF. I was even referred to a specialist who only takes referrals from another specialist. Out of desparation, one of my many specialists prescribed a drug that normally treats leprosy. I became quite depressed and even suffered a panic attack that sent me to the ER. Over the years I have determined that any foods high in histamine would make me significantly worse. Physicians in the U.S. generally do not include histamine intolerance as a proper disease state. After reading all I could on “histamine intolerance” I decided I may have a problem with histamine and decided to try probiotics to help. I took different strains that didn’t help but then came upon Fortefy. I began ordering from Vitacost. It seemed to help a bit, but the date on the bottle seemed rather old. I communicated with Interplexus and they said their was a newer batch. I ordered through their website that directs you to Amazon. When I began taking the new batch within a week I began clearing up. For almost a year I have been 85-95% better! A true miracle treatment for me. Unfortunately, the past two months my urticaria has returned. I’m thinking the probiotics are no longer viable. Interplexus is still selling the 7/16 bottles that I began at first taking a year ago. I have talked with Interplexus and they said they did a viability test in August of last year that turned out fine. They think their is something going on with me that is causing my urticaria to return. It’s certainly possible but in desparation I’m on the search for a different manufacturer and wait until Interplexus orders a fresh batch.

I have decided to downgrade the product since my inquiry to Interplexus was seemingly ignored. I placed my concern about the products ineffectiveness with the last two bottles I ordered. I was not given a satisfactory answer. I left a voicemail to one of the doctors on staff that I had previously talked with and she did not return my call. I can’t recommend this product because of the lack of response from the company.
