Saved my Anemia
A year ago I had severe anemia results from a blood fasting blood test. My doctor wanted me to go to the hospital. Being a nurse I knew what was ahead of me.. the dreaded iron infusions, which can be very painful. I made a request with my doctor, if he would give me 3 weeks to make a change. I went to work on my behalf. I found this time released Hema Plex, with 85 mg of iron plus contains a combination of other vitamins to support and to absorbed the iron. I did add organic black strap molasses to my program. After a 3 weeks on my program, I was headed in the right direction. Now I continued using only the HemaPlex. Took me about 3 1/2months to recover, but I did it without the drug company being involved. I was and still am on the Hemaplex. I even had all my doctors display the empty box on their shelf to have others to make a choice. Took a while, but after they saw my improvenments they, finally took my advise. I wold also like to add, that if a person wanted to speed up the process, there is Homeopathic iron, plus raspberries contain lots of iron and eat foods that contain iron. Once I reached a normal level I continued with the Hemaplex. Thay product saved me. With a passion to get well was my goal. I did it!

This works!
I am 41 yrs old and have been anemic my whole life. On 4/13 I had a blood test done and my hemoglobin was 10.0 and my iron was 24. I friend from work told me about Hema Plex and so after reading up about it, I started taking it on 4/21. I also take a multivitamin and a b-12 vitamin. I had my blood taken again on 5/8 and my hemoglobin was 11.7 (normal is 11.1-15.9) and my iron was 49 (normal is 27-159). am so excited as this is the first time I have ever tested within a normal range. I will continue to take this and I am scheduled to get my blood checked again in 5 weeks. I would recommend you still get your blood monitored regularly.

Can't live without it
This is the only iron that has worked for me. I've been anemic for decades and have trouble with absorption. I also have colitis and iron is very hard on your stomach so I am extra sensitive to that. This product does not upset my digestion at all. I've tried liquid liver, every other form of iron, even iron-IV but when I discovered this product I have finally been able to live a normal life. A very helpful tip is to take it on an empty stomach (and at least 1 hour away from drinking tea).

some digestive issues...
I bought this supplement because I was looking for a cheaper alternative to Floradix. Something which contains both B-12 and iron. I have fibroids and my cycles are VERY VERY heavy, and my ferritin levels are horrible --- last year it was a 2! Dietary changes don't seem help me at all (doesn't matter whether or not I eat meat, or animal products, my levels remain the same-- horrible!).

My very first dose of Hema-Plex gave me an awful stomach ache, and I'd say about 60% of the time it seems to go down okay but 40% of the time it gives me a nasty, dull sort of stomach ache which lasts for hours. I have had some issues with bowel movements, mainly straining and intestinal gas -- both of which are symptoms of constipation. My diet is 100% vegetarian and 95% vegan.... I get TONS of fiber :) I only eat brown rice, beans, vegetables, and whole grains. Bowel symptoms appeared within seven days. I have been taking the supplement for 13 days now, and while I am not fully constipated I am definitely pooping less and having some black poop.

So far, there are only a handful of iron supplements which don't upset my stomach. Floradix is the best, because it gives me a boost of energy in addition to the iron. Vitamin Code Raw Iron is also easy to tolerate, and is food based. I have also had success with Advanced Ferrochel by Source Naturals, Gentle Iron by Solgar and Vitamin Shoppe (the last three are ferrous bisglycinate, which seems to be truly gentle). Herbal Iron by Nature Works seems to be good as well, although two doses (out of 25) seemed to give me gas.

To be honest I don't feel very well on this supplement. When I took Floradix I noticed a positive change within seven days. For now, I am going to try and make it through the month because my levels are really low. But next month I am definitely going back on the Floradix!

*disclaimer* I have pre-existing stomach problems (maybe an ulcer but I'm not sure) which might have something to do with me not being able to tolerate this supplement. I love most products by Nature's Plus. They do have an *easier to tolerate* supplement which is their chewable iron (my son loves it).

Nature's Plus Hema-Plex 30 Tablets - 85 mg Iron
My doctor became very upset that my blood anemia level was at level 5-6. A normal blood level is 10. I have severe anemia. I have suffered from anemia most of my life.

He threatened to hospitalize me if we couldn't get my blood level up. He prescribed an iron product that contained over 85 mg of iron.

I was also having some sinus and breathing difficulties. I went to my local organic food chain store looking for something that would ease my sinus issues.

The store representative stated that persons who often suffer from anemia usually have sinus and breathing problems. I have been taking this product for 60 days, and my last doctor's checkup revealed that I had conquered my anemia.

It also helped ease my sinus and breathing difficulties. I highly recommend this product.

I purchased 30 tablets in a foil pouch box. One serving size contains 300 mg vit C, 30 mg vit E, 25 mg thiamin (vit B-1), 25 mg riboflavin (vit B-2), 50 mg niacin, 25 mg vit B-6, 400 mcg folate, 500 mcg vit b-12, 25 mg pantothenic acid, 25 mg calcium, 85 mg iron, 5 mg zinc, 10 mcg selenium, 2 mg copper, 5 mg mangnese, 50 mg L-cysteine, 25 mg proanthoplex (bioflavonoid, billberry, blackberry, green tea, and black & red raspberry), 15 mg beet, 2.5 mg bioperine.

I take one tablet daily. There are no artificial colors and preservatives. Free from the common allergens yeast, wheat, and milk. After 40 years of anemia, I am finally free of this problem.

When I skip a few days, I certainly feel the difference. I highly recommend this product for menstruating females. Not only did it cure my anemia, breathing problems, and exhaustion, it also cured cramps associated with the menstruation cycle.

UPDATED 2021: Lifelong Anemia Finally Over
UPDATE for 2021: After awhile it started giving me intestinal issues. When I did a bowel detox, 8 tablets came out in my stool COMPLETELY unabsorbed and undissolved! Terrifying cuz those things had to have just been sitting in my intestines for a couple of weeks. Switched to 100% Beef Liver/Organ Tablets from another company and SO MUCH BETTER. Bought those from Amazon too from a company called Wholesome Wellness or something like that. Just look for a black and white label for Beef Liver tablets. SO MANY perks, like more energy and skin/hair/nail growth. Plus, it is just powdered freeze-dried animal organ meat so it is FOOD. My body sucks it up!

ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM 2019: The first I became aware of my body's tendency toward anemia, I was 15 and denied the privilege of donating blood at my high school's blood drive. Taken supplements since, but never got into the normal range, and usually suffered in some form from painful side effects so that I rarely kept up the habit.

With this hema-plex, I started taking it sometime last summer, and when I went in for my 37th birthday annual physical exam in October, I was thrilled but not surprised to learn I was no longer anemic. All my iron levels were in the normal range. I was not surprised because I had started feeling better from taking this supplement almost immediately, so I knew it was working.

WARNING: For me, taking it EVERY day seems to be a bit too much for my bowels--constipation or diarrhea occur. I found a happy medium by taking 1 tablet 2 or 3 days a week. Also, I take it first thing in the morning or by lunch because it gives me too much energy to take at night...otherwise, my sleep is interrupted or impossible!

At that dose and timing, along with my daily prenatal (Megafoods Baby & Me brand), I am now free of anemia. It also seems to help regulate my periods and reduce the flow level. The only lingering side effect? Darker stools sometimes. I'm buying this stuff for life!
