As a duodenal Switch patient I require massive amounts of ADEK...and I need them dry. This is a great price for a decent number of pills (I take 2 a day). However, the bulk of it is from Beta Carotene which if you are a Weight Loss Surgery Patient, either RNY or DS, you cannot process due to not having much duodenum to work with. We need our A from Palmitate, which is the smaller portion of this pill. If you are a WLS patient, go check out Biotech's A 25 as a better source--smaller pill and less smelly too.

A lot of Vitamin A products are still formulated with soybean oil, which is really stupid, as soy is a common allergen and has no business being in supplements. I started taking a Vitamin A product 30 years ago to protect my eyes. Since I found I was sensitive to all legumes, not just soy or peanuts, I've come to rely on Solaray exclusively. Here's the odd part: over the years I've noticed that Vitamin A quells a sugar rush. Not complex carbs as in starches, but simple carbs -- sugars. That, and another odd thing. As I aged into my 50's and 60's, it has a preventive effect on incontinence. I figure it keeps me young.

Dry A is for your eye health. My husband has retinitis pigmentosa (sp) which is deyeriation of the retina. The dry A helps with slowing down the damage. We've been using it for 10 years and it has helped..it was recommended by the opthamoligist.

Good price for 25k dry A, which is what many post-bariatric patients like myself end up needing. Seems to be helping on my vitamin A labs. I only give it 4 because I wish more came in a bottle.

I have a malabsorption problem due to weight loss surgery and these are great for that.

I usually use Country Life Dry Vitamin A to help control my oily facial skin on the recommendation of my Dermatologist. On a whim, and the fact that it was cheaper, I bought this product instead. After a week of daily use, and a supposedly higher IU count, I'm 100% convinced that this is either a lesser formulation or the specific capsulation process that Country Life uses is simply better. Either way, not happy with this purchase for the indication sought. Gave it one extra star as it might be useful for something else.
