Probably a good screw but the Amazon description lists the wrong coating

Nothing against the screw itself but the Amazon web page says "Made of steel with bronze finish and dry lubricant coating for rust resistance". They are are not. These are the standard Zinc Coated screws. Not what I wanted... The screw mfg does not even list screws with that coating (I find out now.)

Solid Choice for Pocket Joinery

The square drive gives it good contact with the driver. The fine pitch is good for hardwoods (less so for plywood). The construction is solid - I have driven a couple of hundred and haven't had any broken heads, which is a problem with some brands. The mechanical design with the lack of threads at the top helps the screw pull two pieces together without causing stripping. Have not had any problems with the screw splitting wood.

Note that this screw is designed for pocket joinery. If you are using it for typical applications, remember that the head will not countersink - you will have a protruding head or you will have to drill a hole yourself.

Conclusion: it's a screw, with no unpleasant surprises.

Kreg has a great product line including their pocket hole system

Kreg has a large selection of pocket hole screws of varying lengths and finishes to fit your wood project. I use the 1 1/4" when attaching two 3/4" pieces of plywood building cabinets. The only complaint I have is the driver bit often gets "stuck" in the end of the screws as you finish screwing it into the wood. It does come apart but a bit of prying is often needed.

Kreg Screws

This was the first time I used the Kreg system and it work well. It was easy to use and held parts well. The screws seem to be of good quality. I did not have any heads snap and the wood did not split when screwing together a birch face frame.

Go to screw for 1" x anything boards

The majority of my woodworking is with materials an inch, technically 3/4", thick. These are perfect for those materials and if you look at the charts this is the suggested size. I've never had any issues using them. They pull materials tight together. In the past I never used glue as I trusted the screws to do their job.

Great screws

I really like these screws for several reasons other than pocket screws. They start easy, square drive works well for me using the Kreg driver, they aren't bad to split my material and they hold well. I have not had the problems others have had stripping out or breaking the head off maybe because I usually predrill and I don't typically use them in hardwoods either. The only con is that they are more costly yet I am willing to continue if/when something better comes along. I use these in 3/4" material.
